most powerful/influential British Monarchy after Victoria

so what POD after the death of Queen Victoria would lead to the most powerful and/or influential monarchy/Monarch in the UK? and what effect would that have on the rest of British politics and culture?

It's a very hard sell as it was under Victoria that the convention of monarchical non-interference is politics is firmly cemented and finalized. Albert had a lot to do with that. One divergence could be Disraeli actively involves her to an even greater extent and that carries on even when he is not in office and when Victoria dies.
Also Edward VII could be given a more conservative and active political education, perhaps with Disraeli but also with a few other senior politicians.

A later divergence could centre around either world war with a military or civilian catastrophe being blamed on political incompetence so the Crown is 'forced' to intervene to correct the situation.

Lord Halifax as PM is the final way I can think of right now. With LH is not a matter of direct governmental power being exercised by the monarch but the monarch having the continued ability to determine who exercises governmental power.

At any case it's hard to pull off, very very hard

Perhaps Edward VII lives a few more years and intervenes in political battle over reforming the House of Lords or worse, Irish Home rule. OTL these were implemented under George who early in his reign had rather less political acumen than his father.
My main source for this statement is "British Revolution" (Rhodes James).

both of you seem to think I meant monarch intervening, not what I meant per-say, cultural PODs having to do with greater respect and deference to the Monarchy and Royal Family.

Oddly enough, I think if the main goal is preservation of the 'aura of mystique', then I actually think we can come right up to HM's reign.

More specifically, we need to somehow avoid the run of bad marriages that occurred-> The Countess of Snowdon, Prince and Wales and Duke of York. I'm not entirely sure how to do this though.

Essentially, it was the very public and messy divorces that came out of these that brought more of an air of the ordinary to the family, and the new direction for the family has only really come to the fore in the last couple of years.
