Moroccan Crises Escalates; Earlier WWI

What happens if the First Moraccan Crises of 1905-6 escalates, culminating in a war in Europe?

Maybe the Algeciras Conference fails somehow, with Germany somehow getting other nations on their side. Could this still cement Anglo-French relations, or could it prove that the two couln't be allies?

If you looked at the Naval Race WI you would know that it would be pretty hard for the conference to end up anyother way than Germany isolated. The Moroccan Crisis won't lead anywhere, tho the Bosnia Annexation Crisis would be much easier to use.

Germany crushes France while Russia is unable to do anything. This is followed by a cold war between Great Britain and Germany, while Russia adapts to the changed situation and gets on friendly terms with Germany.
Both now wait for the demise of Austria-Hungary and then share the Balkans real estate.

It could escalate to a war that's just Germany versus France, Belgium and UK. Russia had internal problems at the time, no other nations would be interrested to itervene.

So exactly why would the German's initiate a war they most likely couldn't win?

There was no 'everybody on the edges of their seats'. The French had already bought off the Spanish and they were already pals with the British.

Never said war was likely. Just that if it did happen Germany would fight alone, but not being forced to fight on two fronts. Interresting scenario acctually.
