More violent dissolution of the USSR

How could the dissolution of the USSR following the august coup of 91' be more violent. Perhaps have the coup succeed and have the Russian military try to retain control.

Succesful coup could cause bloodier dissolution of USSR. Maybe something similar with Yugoslavia. And maybe Red Army divides between troops of Yanayev and Gorbachev.

Have Valery Mironov become much more hostile towards separatism within the USSR and arrange someone else replace Dudayev as a commander of 132nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment in Tartu by the time Moscow orders an early full crackdown of Baltic nationalist movements.

Instead of the limited violence that occurred in OTL, the three republics are thrown into full chaos as embittered nationalists start a terror campaign against the local Russian-speaking population. As the local Russian communities demand protection and situation deteriorates further, this creates a fatal dilemma for Yeltsin - he simply cannot credibly maintain his image as a Russian nationalist and abandon a sizeable Russian minority in the Baltics.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dzhokhar_Dudayev#cite_note-Uzel-0

Yeltsin was a Russian nationalist?

I could see the latter leading to at least a medium sized civil war in what is now Russia. Probably more violence from the states that are now independent either internally or as new states like Ukraine intervene in Russia's civil war.
I read a book of possible future wars published just after Desert Storm and it included just that scenario.
