More successful 1848 revolutions

Is it plausible that the revolutions of 1848 could have met greater success, with major changes across Europe? Most of absolute monarchies would either reform into constitutional monarchies, or disintegrate into nation states, or be overthrown into French-style Republics based on Enlightenment ideals. Also, the small incident in Ireland snowballs into a nationalist famine revolt. In Britain the Chartist Movement takes a more hostile tone, yet there is a lack of physical violence; political infighting produces a Parliament which largely meets its demands.

BONUS: Let the revolutions spread to non-European powers such as the Ottoman Empire or Qing China.

Perhaps a good starting point would be the defection or desertion of large parts of the Army and the bureaucracy, which results in a collapse of the authority of conservatives.
