I'm not 100% sure this is posted in the right forum, but here goes...
I remember, from elementary school, Hanukkah songs as well as Christmas songs, but they dealt exclusively with the secular aspects of the holiday (dreidels, latkes). This is probably due to constitutional issues--I don't remember religious Christmas songs either.
We did learn about what Hanukkah meant--the Maccabees, the oil and the candles, etc. I remember an animated video describing the Maccabean revolt, for example.
However, Adam Sandler's Hanukkah song, rather than dealing with the religious aspects of the holiday, focuses on listing Jewish celebrities and discussing more secular aspects of the holiday, with the exception of a brief mention of the menorah ("David Lee Roth lights the menorah"). Even if there was some resistance to singing about menorahs and miracles, Sandler himself could have pushed it through because he's Adam Sandler.
The only religious Hanukkah song I can think of is the one written by Orrin Hatch, who isn't Jewish:

So what if there were more? One could make some very dramatic ones about the insane tyrant Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the Maccabees, the oil lasting eight days, etc.
