We've discussed the possibilities of allied ground offensives against Germany in September 1939 a lot, but I don't recall a major discussion on the possibility of a major allied air offensive against German industrial targets from the start of the war. I'm very aware that the RAF in OTL would not even bomb "private property", but assuming an extremely aggressive RAF and A. dl Aire mount a campaing what would they accomplish?
Let's assume day raids within fighter escort radius, that the largely obsolete French bomber force will primarily go night bombing, and that the whole thing escalates into a full scale air campaign for supremacy in Douhet mould once the LW is able to come back west in force.
What would be the implications on battle of France, etc.
