More French/Spanish gains from the American Revolution

After the ARW, France gained Tobago and Senegal while Spain gained Florida and Minorca.

Is it possible they could gain much more, either in the Americas or elsewhere? I know they did occupy several islands in the Caribbean before the war ended.

Spain launched an unsuccessful campaign against Gibraltar. Had that campaign been successful Spain would have gained Gibraltar. A Spanish campaign that would likely have succeeded was about to begin against the Bahamas when the war ended. So had either of those happened they would have been ceded to Spain. But if both happened then Spain would probably have to give back the Bahamas to keep Gibraltar. Florida was going to Spain no matter what, because France didn't care for it and if Spain didn't get it Britain would have to give it to the US.

Why would Britain have had to cede Florida to the U.S.?
