In an earlier discussion here, I suggested the political leftism of most (American at least) Jews was rooted in the concept of Tikkun.

Leo disagreed, saying the most prominent "Jewish liberals" were atheists and attributed contemporary Jews' leftism to other causes.
So I'm wondering if we could get a politically left-wing Jewish movement in the U.S. or other nations with large Jewish populations with an explicitly religious base, perhaps analogous to the Christian Right.
Michael Lerner and Tikkun seem to be OTL examples of what I'm suggesting, but I don't think they're that influential.
