More equipped Romania/Hungary means a Win at Stalingrad?

If lets say the German supply the Romanians/Hungarians and other axis powers with what ever tanks they can and try to train their armies and give them adequate supplies could that somewhat equate to a win at Stalingrad/code blue.

Excuse me if this had already been asked beforehand. I've read stuff on this forum before and this is my first time that I've posted.

Probably not. They lacked training and numbers in which to deal with the overwhelming amount of Russians coming. Only a POD that includes the Germans capturing Stalingrad on the march in July can make the difference in avoiding catastrophe come the winter counter-offensive.

Well it does not strike me as too bad a question. The problem is though that the Germans were desperately short of equipment for their own formations, a quick look at Keegan's The Second World War cos it is handy suggest a shortfall of 1600 tanks, 2000 artillery guns and 7000 anti-tank guns in April 1942. If they do not have enough for their own men there is a strong disincentive to supply arms to less effective formations.

Still hello and welcome :)

I know that the romanian army was absolutely desperate for AT guns able to knock out the T-34 at a reasonable distance. As stated the germans were very short of everything themselves, so the gear must come mostly from somewhere else, question is where? The romanians and hungarians could theoretically commit more aircraft (actually they could easily double their respective commitments i would think, though that would leave little in the respective countries) and whatever AA, AT and field guns of every kind they still had in their countries and more troops, though as probably known, they were both retaining large amounts of troops and gear facing eachother over Transilvania! Something like the TACAM type vehicles would be useful for both, if somehow they would have managed to convert a significant amount by the time of Stalingrad.

But probably the most important factor is actually having the germans heed to the signs of the impending soviet offensive and take appropriate and sound measures (they did received warnings about this impending offensive from romanian recce among others).

Could Hungarian troops be transferred from the Romanian border and Bulgarians watch the Romanian border instead?

What if Bulgaria provides troops to Barbarossa. They where allies with Hitler, so it would make sense. They would be able to commit at least 100,000 troops!

Bulgaria largely had its hands full with its parts of occupied Yugoslavia and Greece in 1941. Plus they declared war on the UK and USA but not on the USSR. Not that it ultimately did them much good in 1945, but it at least meant that they didn't suffer the horrific casualties that the Hungarians and Romanians did.

Plus Bulgaria has had a huge cultural connection with Russia and they refused to fight them.
