More Convenient and Appropriate Cut-Off Dates for CE and BCE

Yeah, I fancy Countries like Russia, Venezuela, Iran, and North Korea would have serious problems with a dating system named after America. Plus, there's the nearly 200 other countries who would want it set to something about their history instead of mine, so... It wouldn't work out. ;)

Every country should have its own dating system! Just like currencies...oh wait... (looks at EU). Of course, they will all conveniently print the exchange rate with the 1776 calendar alongside their own systems.

I like the idea of something based on putting the break at whatever ends up defined as the start of classical antiquity, but by that logic I'd think that creating a third era, starting with the treaty of Westphalia might be a good idea as well. Of course in the long run that opens the door to a dating system that will be forever adjusted... So that brings me around to thinking that a single system dated to the start of recorded history probably is the most logical dating system possible - I certainly like the idea of this 'standardized dating' being to CE/BCE as Kelvin is to Celsius.

Yes! Ingenious! That way we don't have to worry about finding a common standard dating system. Each country can find one that perfectly suits their own desires! :p
Speaking of exchange rates, though, the bureaucracy may end up causing some minor headaches, but we'll get used to it, like with timezones and currency exchanges. It'll work out just fine... Right?...
