A remake of Raise the Titanic, done right and actually bearing some semblance to the book could work.

I'm not sure you could remake Raise the Titanic, TBH. Cussler was able to get away with a lot in the source material because the book was written in 1976, the ship was discovered in 1985 and the novel was set in 1987. Since that time too many people have seen Jim Cameron's Titanic over the past 20 years and Titanic includes actual dive footage of the wreck. It would be too difficult to disassociate from the our collective consciousness in order for the movie to work and the original source material posits that ship sank intact and is structurally sound enough to be raise. And we know that those two basic facts are untrue.
