Mongol Peace

I found this information which stated that a few years before Mongols decided to invade Central Asia (Khawarzmid Empire), Genghis Khan sent a message to the muslim ruler, Ala ad-Din Muhammad, offering "I will rule the rising sun, and you can/will rule the setting sun". But somehow (maybe the sultan killed Genghis' envoy, I forgot) he rejected it, and caused the Mongol Horde to rain down hell on the entire Central Asia.

But what if he aggreed to the offer? Will we see the entire Europe and Islamic world spared from devastation by the Mongol?

Thanks in advance!

Genghis Khan first sent a trade caravan with a diplomat that sought to establish more regular relations with the stated persian state. But one of less than smart governors of the Shah executed the caravan. Than Ghengis sent another missive directly to the Shah that wanted reparations, and that didn't went well. The rest is history.

From this little historical episode it can probably be said that Persians also considered steppe nomads as simple savages that pose no threat and that no dealings with them are worth the effort.

But if he did accept it we would simply see more prominent mongol invasion into Europe since they would have cordial relations with Persia and no need to go the Il Khanate route.

The problem here . . .

Is one of diplomacy. Genghis/Temuchin made a HUGE political blunder when he sent that caravan of presents to the Shah. . . He called the Shah his son. . . this was a usual exchange for Mongols, but a mortal insult for the Shah. That is why Central Asia was ruined for centuries. . . because of a political gaff. . .

If the Mongols had concentrated their power in East Asia is it possible they could have reigned longer?
