Monarchists Vs Fascists?

How could we get in the possition where a country is in civil war between Monoarchist and Fascist factions?

Give a charismatic leader to whoever the hell it was that wanted to return the Kaiser to power in Germany.

Isn't this the main reason fascism never took off in the Balkans, the monarchist dominated the right and elites making the fascists irrelevent to the majority.

The only thing I can see is radicals (ie full-blown ideological Fascists) attempting to overthrow an increasingly conservative government. I'm working on a story were Italy remains Fascist and Mussolini dies in 1950, leading to Count Ciano leading the 'establishment' which has moved further towards tradiotional authoritarianism ala Franco while radicals like Pavioloni lead an extremist coup, leading to low-level civil war and terrorism. Add a bit of Turtledove cut and paste replacing Red Brigades with Black Brigades and we're done. ;)

Monarchists in Europe i think were known as those who decended from some version of christ so you could go right wing on that and make facism very left wing with some unknown leading the fight for their ideology lilke a mussolini or a hitler... i need to stop drinkingone day

The National Socialists make a bit to socialist statements, alieneating the conservatives around Hindenburg and also the royal family in exile. Thus von Papen and von Schleicher never split and instead try to get rid of the Nazis by declaring martial law and use the Reichswehr against them. This leads to a civil war - the SA was war to powerful to be simply disbanded. In an attempt to strenghten their legitimaty, the conservatives call the Crown Prince back and name him the next Kaiser.

IIRC there were some clashes between supporters of the Bourbon and Carlist dynasties and Franco's troops, though usually the monarchists and fascists worked together against the Republicans. There's also Italy post-Allied invasion, with fighting between Mussolini loyalists/the Italian Social Republic and the monarchical government, though by that time the king's influence was fading.

Clashes between monarchists and fascists aren't too hard to manage as the two didn't get along all that well in OTL; the only reason fighting wasn't more common was that, despite mutual antipathy, they usually made a common cause against Communists and other leftists and/or working for national expansion and glory. I'd imagine that without a common enemy or cause to unite them Fascists and Monarchists would start fighting quickly enough.

How do you tell the difference? :D

I know you're joking, but in all seriousness this is rather offensive. You just called me a fascist, living in a fascist state. I know you didn't mean it in a nasty way, but if the two things in question were say, being black and being primitive, then pretending to confuse them, even in fun, would be skating on thin ice.

As to the actual topic, I echo Chengar.

I don't know about civil war exactly, but there was certainly no love lost between Mussolini and Victor Emmanuel III. I believe the former rather resented his inferior rank vis a vis Hitler. I suppose it is not impossible that Benito would have declared a republic or even, in extreme circumstances, himself emperor (or some such thing) of, say, a New Roman Empire.

Have the Ernst Röhm fraction of the nazi party win over the Hitler fraction and suddenly a civil war is likely between Ernst Röhm and his SA on one side against conservatives on the other, incl. the Reichswehr, church and monarchists.

Germany's last Crown Prince - Friederich Wilhelm - apparently had political ambitions after the abdication, hoping for Hitler to restore the Hohenzollers - something like in Italy where Mussolini's fascist regime was inside the formal frame of a Monarchy. If Hitler leaves the scene in say 33 or 34, and Röhm enters, I could see the conservatives looking for a gathering point against the nationalSOCIALIST Röhm, and that the Crown Prince could be that.

In Entente propaganda from WWI he was called the "Clown Prince" but AFAIK he wasn't that hopeless and quite popular anyway.
