Monarchist or Bonapartist France post 1872?

Can France have a monarchy or another Napoleon after 1870? What I mean is, after some sort of crisis could people loose faith in the Republic?

P.S I'm not sure whether to put this in before or after 1900 because it can happen before or after 1900. But, I'm saying after a point before 1900 so, I assume to put it before 1900.

Between 1870 and 1900, I doubt it. It would take a lot of effort to screw up badly at this time.

However, if the French lose to Germany in WWI, they could find themselves having a revolution. If they lose to Germany again in alt-WWII (which is almost certain if they lose WWI), they would probably have another one. Either of these could result in a monarchy.

Get Henry,Count of Chambord to die and we will get a monarchy running. The elite after 1870 tried to restore the monarchy, but Henry,Count of Chambord refused to accept the throne unless the tricolour was not used as a flag.

With a PoD of before or during 1879, it's perfectly plausible for the Prince Imperial to live beyond his OTL death, setting up the chances of a Napoleon IV.

I'd like to know the plausibility of Boulanger becoming dictator around 1890 and restoring the House of Orleans.

At the height of his popularity he refused to mount a Coup D'etat which effectively marked the official decline Le Boulangisme. If for some reason he decides to go through with the Coup, things very quickly get very interesting. He almost certainly in my opinion would have succeeded.

If Napoleon IV survives there is a good chance he'll be marrying in to the British Royal Family. He will be supported by Britain.

I've always had an idea about Napoleon IV (that's takes place in the wider T.L I'm writing). That he ends up in the British Army as a General. During the First World War he takes command of the B.E.F (after renouncing he claim on the throne) and stops a German offensive. After which, Germany defeats France. During the revolutionary postwar fervor a second Paris Commune is declared. While British troops begin withdrawing Napoleon IV refuses and raises French veterans and British volunteers from the front to put an end to the revolt in Paris and retake the city. A popular figure political forces quickly consolidate to see him empowered as Emperor of France again. He rebuilds France and her military while deciding against a revanche unless he is certain of victory.
