So, I'm working on a TL where Napoleon never rises. (Ie, he dies in the coup of 18 Brumaire)

Long story short, no Peninsular War, therefore no quick and sudden independent states in Latin America.

So, later on Itrubide convines the Spanish monarchy that stability would be better if the Viceroyalty of New Spain handled its own domestic problems. (I.e a Dominion of sorts). However , Itrubide was a firm royalist, and he insisted that they have a Spanish Bourbon rule New Spain as a sort of Kingdom (I haven't quite worked out on that area)

The Spanish monarch agrees to this, and soon the Viceroyaltys also want monarchs.

The problem is that the Viceroyalty of New Spain has Carlos of Spain as its monarch, and I don't know what members of the Bourbon family would take a throne.

So, do you think it's plausible for the Viceroyaltys to becone Kingdoms and have their own monarchs?

This is all in 1820 btw, Ferdinand VII had just arrived on the throne.
