Monarchies in Latin America?

So, I'm working on a TL where Napoleon never rises. (Ie, he dies in the coup of 18 Brumaire)

Long story short, no Peninsular War, therefore no quick and sudden independent states in Latin America.

So, later on Itrubide convines the Spanish monarchy that stability would be better if the Viceroyalty of New Spain handled its own domestic problems. (I.e a Dominion of sorts). However , Itrubide was a firm royalist, and he insisted that they have a Spanish Bourbon rule New Spain as a sort of Kingdom (I haven't quite worked out on that area)

The Spanish monarch agrees to this, and soon the Viceroyaltys also want monarchs.

The problem is that the Viceroyalty of New Spain has Carlos of Spain as its monarch, and I don't know what members of the Bourbon family would take a throne.

So, do you think it's plausible for the Viceroyaltys to becone Kingdoms and have their own monarchs?

This is all in 1820 btw, Ferdinand VII had just arrived on the throne.

Given as how Brazil became an Empire after its independence from Portugal, I don't think it's terribly unlikely. Then again Brazil had been directly incorporated into the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil, and the Algarves after the Portuguese King moved his capital to Rio de Janiero. Funny story about that: the King actually really liked Rio, and declared it the new capital of Portugal. His advisors told him he couldn't have Portugal's capital in a colony, so he just made Brazil equal to Portugal within the new UKPBA, and Portugal was ruled from Rio de Janiero from 1815 to 1821.

To be fair, all that was because of Napoleon. I would think that in said No Napoleon TL, you would have Brazil most likely imploding like Spanish America did. The Spanish King had also planned to flee to the Americas, but was unable OTL. Perhaps Spanish America could've gone the route of Brazil if he could've have as well, maybe not. But well, that's not the situation asked here.

As it is, I could think it plausible. At the very least, without Napoleon, you don't have the Political Crisis of 1808 that was the prelude to the uprisings. So yeah, you can likely have the viceroyalties still loyal into the 1820's. After that it would depend on how they're governed both locally and from Madrid to lead to UK style Dominions or something similar.

The count of Aranda alredy had a plan on splitting the Spanish empire into two kingdoms (Perú and Mexico) under the sovereignity of an emperor (the emperor of Spain and the antilles). If Charles III or Charles IV pulls the trigger then you will have two kings in America which could split from the empire with ease later on.
