Modern Rome TL?

I was wondering if anyone has done a good modern Rome time line. What I mean by good is as historically accurate and as factually based as possible. Nothing like aliens show up and give the Romans lasers, more like the son of Marcus Aurelius is killed in 176 instead of taking over the Empire and running it into the ground.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Removing Commodus likely won't be enough to save the Principate--you'll still have the plague, the lack of continued expansion, and the changing nature of politics both internal and external that made the Crisis of the Third Century a perfect storm.

You'll need to be a bit more specific in your request. What kind of era would you find acceptable? Principate (as per your post)? Dominate? Byzantine? If it's the latter, I recommend Isaac's Empire; both versions--the original version got to the 19th century, iirc, and was all space techy. There's also a timeline I skimmed a while back that was about a rump Western Roman state in Iberia that survived into the present, but I don't remember what that was called anymore.

That one was Zuvarq's excellent Remnant's of Rome - here's a link.
