Modern Marines on Guadalcanal

Three years ago, I came up with a good idea for an alternate history novel. It's
called I've Served My Time In Hell. The title's taken from the epitaph of a Marine who died during the Battle of Guadalcanal. It's about modern Marines,
(from Vietnam, 1967,) who are in a running gun battle with both the Vietcong
and the PAVN, who meet Marines from World War II, and follow them back to
Guadalcanal.

...Congratulations? Perhaps next time you should either post this in the right forum or not at all.

No need to be so harsh. It is better to direct new people to the right place not try to drive them off before they barely even get started here.

Bard32 your idea probably belongs better in the ASB sub-forum rather than here as it deals with time travel, etc.

Yeah, you're right. I know it's wrong to be harsh to people on here. But for one, it's too easy to do that. Also, it's a little bit more difficult to remember that after having a bad day yourself. Sorry, Bard!

Isn't this the forum? Alternate History After 1900? What's your opinion on
this post?

Another 'Philadelphia Experiment' eh? Loved that movie.
As to above poster mentioned this should go into the ASB thread. I'm not sure how to handle this but maybe a PM to IAN, so he can move it for you.

I'm looking forward to how this one turns out, post the first onequickly mate. Are they only marines, or does the support also come along? Have they been trained in Japanese tactics?

Regards,

Rhysz

No harm done. The anonymity of the internet allows one to express ones frustrations in such a manner they would not do in RL. Still no harm done and you're right it should probably be moved by Ian.

In any case the premise of this thread is most interesting. A good possibility of a future grandson fighting alongside his Marine Father (or Grandfather).
