------- (Mod Edit) with Black African borders!

No, instead they can identify very well their ethnic groups and do so with annoying regularity. That is why all of the civil wars in Africa since decolonialisation turned genocidal; because they were race wars. Ethnic groups get identified with a President’s rival and he exacts revenge on them for it, regardless of whether they showed support for him or not.
I think he's saying exactly that. He means to say that Sub-Saharan Africans do not believe in 'our' concepts of race, i.e. that all people of African descent can all be thrown into one big group of 'Blacks'. They instead have their own definitions, as you point out.

The OP can appeal to Ian. IMO the thread title was more than enough for the Kick. This Board tries to have a minimal level of respect for everyone, and the original thread title was anything but. Even the "Black Africa" part is less than polite.

Absurd: political correctness going berserk here.
No offence, either in "f*ck", or "Black Africa", unless noting Subsaharan Africans are "black" (to our eyes, and even to themselves, they seem such) in itself means offence and racism. (Well, indeed , no one has ever spoken of "Yellow Asia", "White Europe" or "Red Americas" now that I think of it: just why?)

I agree with you concerning the F-word (which I do not use as I have a far larger and more expressive vocabulary than a few dozen profane lexical items), but I completely disagree with you on "black Africa"; note that the San People and most of their fellow Khoisan-speakers are usually not even as dark as caramel; also note that to make that statement accurate required my not using any Western racial classifications, thus logically supporting my argument, that DNA research supports, that Western racial categories are as psuedoscientific as grouping an orca and a yellow perch together as "Fish."

BTW, I do not think most South Asians, many Southeast Asians nor most Southwest Asians look any more "yellow" than the San People do; indeed, why not speak of a "yellow Southern Africa?"

We too aren't "white". But considering that American people of color (?) recognize themselves as "black"... All of us, in the end, are humans.
