Barrack Obama will go down in history as America's first black President although technically speaking he is mixed race as arguably are most people to some degree so we can all identify with him. However a black President was probably inevitable sooner or later.

However as yet there has been no first nation American in the White House even though it was once their country. In theory full citizenship came in 1924 but there were many obstacles to enfranchisement.

Is an Indian President feasible? Several nations were allies of the Crown in both the "War of Independence" (White settlers revolt in Cherokee terms as they regard the British as quitters) and in the War of 1812 which may have ruled against it for a while.Could Charles Curtis have made it under different circumstances?
