Minor changes

What are some little things that could have happened which conceivably would have little or no resulting butterflies and are pretty much just flavor changes?

Frex, while it's a Before 1900 divergence, there was a timeline on here where coffee's popularity was overcome by hot chocolate, to the point of "chocolatehouses" springing up and becoming as common as their coffee equivalents (which in turn do not exist).

Something silly (like in my TL) Ford calling his car the Version Five, instead of the Model T.

(Fanboy showing here...)
Rammstein puts Rosenrot on their Reise, Reise Album, and Benzin becomes OTL's Rosenrot Album's title.

The German Sheperd becomes the most Popular Dog breed, keeping the Name 'Alsatian'

Winston the Platypus survives and creates a popularity centered upon Australian Fauna.

Barbera McClinton calls OTL's Transposons 'Transgenes'

Any possible minor date changes, e.g Wall Street Crash happens a day later, Munich a week earlier etc. etc.

Altering where international sporting events (Olympics, Football World Cup etc.) go shouldn't have much of an effect in most cases either.

in my most humble opinion, introducing a major crowd and physical displacement with the preparatory construction, relocation/evictions and so on in the affected area could have butterflies on meeting spots, potential couples, opportunities for conversation and so on that could preclude or produce friendships, ideas, couples/coupling viz later births, etc.

The Pearson Pennant getting picked as the Flag of Canada.

Comoros staying a French Departement (like Mayotte).

that flag is less difficult to accidentally fly upside down, so, when an American military band doesn't do that, one person not making a joke about it doesn't get the icebreaker that would lead to getting laid and thus not leading to the birth of Fill-In-The-Blank...

While I think the alternate history What If Gordon Banks Had Played? is at times far-feyched, I think it does a good job of demonstrating how something which may seem so relatively insignificant can be so important to the way history has progressed.
