Minnesota in your Timelines

Hello everybody!

Inspired by the recent Michigan and Colorado in your Timelines threads, I was wondering what happens to the state of Minnesota in your timelines. How does Minnesota end up?

My homestate is Minnesota, so that's partly another reason I started this thread.:)

Well, Minnesota grew a little, after America got the Red River Valley back from the British following the Great War.

The empire of Minnesota, built on wheat, timber, and trade, is vast in land but short in people. It is caged in by not only the Kingdoms of Iowa, Wisconsin, and Superior but the fierce horse tribes of the great plains.

Soon to be the Incan province of ima sumaq pampa :p

So far... it's divided between the states of Itasca and Demoine. However, Itasca did gain some territory in OTL western Wisconsin, as well as in the resolution to the Oregon War when the border of the Northwest Angle was extended west a bit. Duluth is the capital of Itasca. Minneapolis is in Demoine, St. Paul is in Itasca.

OTL Minnesota is called Mississippi in my CoHE TL. Former Army scout & Indian Agent Aaron Burr and Merriwether Lewis explore the upper Mississippi River in 1805/06. Burr names the lake at the Mississippi's head Lake Natalia (Natal being Latin for birth).

I imagine that the St. Paul Pioneers will win several Albish Lacrosse League titles and the Missisippi Lumberjacks will win some North American Hockey League championships during the late 2Oth Century. The province is also the home of Congressman and 3 term Chancellor Harold Stassen [Not really:D].

So far, in The Time of Crows, its still Native country; big difference is the largest surviving band of Shawnee, moved in and allied with the Ojibway to completely push the Dakota out into the plains.
