Minas conspiracy

well then they may have tried to create some kind of united states of south america, but obviusly in portugese.

What if the Minas Conspiracy was succesfull, and Minas Gerais declared independence?
What next?

The problem is that they were too weak, being just a band of discontents with the taxes they needed to pay to the Portuguese government for the gold. They didn't have military and popular support, and assumed that the people would support them if they had started the rebellion during the "payment day".

If it had happened then I believe they could have siezed control of Vila Rica with some luck, but soon reinforcements from other cities could have put down the rebellion.
