Miguel marries Maria II of Portugal

The Infante Miguel was made regent of Portugal by his brother, Emperor Pedro I of Brazil.
Miguel and Pedro's daughter, Queen Maria II of Portugal would be married when she became of age.
Suppose Miguel does not wait until his niece does come of age.
He then marries Maria II. What happens then?

Um...he gets arrested for paedophilia?

Anyway, shall we say that he waits until she's 16 without starting a Revolution, following the original agreement? Well then, the conservative tendency in the Portuguese monarchy is reinforced until at least the 1860s, when Miguel dies. Maria and her children are effectively raised by Miguel, so the rest of the 19th century is set up in a conflict between democracy and absolutism. This may well end up in a Republican revolution in the mid-1800s.
