Title: Micronations, Rise!

P.O.D: 1970’s-2018

location/s: Europe, United States, South Americas

In the early 1970’s political tension following the Vietnam war was high and caused major instability on the American and European home fronts. Groups in america such as the Black Panthers, the Weathermen and other terrorist groups run rampid and cause major damage to government buildings and property in a form of violent protest against the war. They however, were not the only groups who wanted to change things. The community of micronations began to also get fed up. Micronations are small communities of people who wish to form their own nations but for obvious reasons, they cannot. But in this alternate timeline, these micronations gain their independence in the court of law. Many dozens of these small communities form legitimate legal nations within the borders of the U.S. and some European countries. The nations of Christiania, Aerican, and Molossia are the first to gain independence and instantly become global sensations. The country of Sealand, a country off the coast of Great Britain, also is founded but receives very little recognition whatsoever. The micronations start popping up everywhere and the Global community starts to feel as if the world is getting crowded. In 1975 the Vietnam war ends with a disastrous defeat for the Americans. The soldiers come home to hate, ridicule, and distrust, along with PTSD and other diseases. This sight of complete disregard for human decency launches a global outrage and micronations are the first to take up arms. The international micronational community forms the Coalition of Allied Microstates, or “CAM” for short, and begins to industrialize their nations at an alarming rate. Although in total the nations have only a few million people, the CAM begins heavy manufacturing of weapons of war. Scientists, inventors, and hard working industrialists start producing blueprints for robotic soldiers, “machines will take over the war process” thought some of these men, others just wanted to see profit from the projects. But the end goal was much more terrifying. The CAM had started from small enclaves inside bigger countries, to hyper industrialized super powers in just under a 10 year period. The robot soldiers eventually got made and were 200 strong when 1981 rolled around. The CAM planned something sinister, they wanted to take over the world. They decided to start with Peru. Peru was small, poor and the perfect place to secretly test out an army. The CAM was somehow able to ship all 200 robots to peru and prepare them for war, after a month of preparations, the CAM unleashed the horde. In the summer of 1981, the CAM began world war 3. Peru was quickly fighting off a horde of unkillable machines of death, they fought hard and long and the following battles ensued.

Initial test run of CAM army (July 12th 1981)- 200 vs 127= 1 robot damaged 120 militia killed

Second run of CAM army (July 13th 1981)- 199 vs 54= 0 robots damaged 23 militia killed

Battle of Ancash (July 13th 1981)- 200* vs 144= 0 robots damaged 129 militia killed

Capital city siege (July 23rd 1981)- 200* vs 572= 15 robots damaged 512 infantry killed

The robots had successfully seized and taken over the capital city of Peru and forced a surrender out of the government. The government was replaced with a CAM interim government and the people of Peru were forced to help build new robots for war. The CAM army had performed in battle adequately and therefore was open for mass production.

*robots were repaired between battles.

I feel this thread needs a few things. First, an explanation of how micro nations could gain independence. I’m sure you could hatch a creative explanation. Next...war robots. What?
