Based on a dream I had last night - sorry, didn't check if this had already been posted as a thread.

A Christian-like faith with the interpretations of Nostradamus prophecies as the core seed of the belief. These Nostradamens are a closed society, wealthy, politically powerful, and are in the business of interpreting the prophecies and deeming them necessary to either avert or help come into fruition (which has lead to a certain amount of infighting due to this rather black and white charter).
The authority wielded by the Christian Church during the 1630’s made for a turbulent and troubled infancy as the Nostradamens first bore fruit as individual groups at this time(sometimes groups as small as two: a teacher and a student).
Roughly a hundred years later the Nostradamens would gain the protection of organizations like the hidden remains of the Knights Templar and other such societies. It was a marriage that saved the Nostradamens from total extinction.
By the 19th century the Nostradamens had become consummate assassins, orators, and political wranglers – although they claim no country of their own there is no world leader that does not fear the Nostradamens…or more specifically, a visit from a pair of their agents (for they always travel in pairs). In part this fear stems from the fact that The Church of Prophecy has resisted all attempts at infiltration and little is known of their society beyond general information, conjecture, and myth.
