Michael the Brave would rulled 20 years over united Wallachia, Moldavia,Transylvania

How would evolved the situation of the wallachian provinces, and the policy of the Balkans&Central Europe, if Habsbourghs would accepted Michael the Brave as ruller and vassal over united Transylvania, Moldavia, and Wallachia, and his reign would lasted about 20 years? Would he succeded to consolidate the wallachian state, and to impose a wallachian dinasty? How the situation of the zone would becomed?

I have wanted to open a thread on this topic myself, but since I found this one through a forum search, why not use it?

On topic: I suppose the POD is that General Basta's assasination plot does not occur, and Michael is installed as Prince of Transylvania, under Habsburg suzeranity. However, good relations with the Habsburgs may not last very long. For a start, he will only be ruling in Transylvania, while Wallachia and Moldavia are still under Polish ocuppation. If Michael wants to regain those lands (and I find if very unlikely that he would settle only for Transylvania), he is likely to drag the Habsburgs into a conflict with Poland, and the Habsburgs are very unlikely to accept that, especially with the danger of a Polish-Ottoman alliance of convenience being formed against them.
I find it morel likely that if Michael wants to regain the lost lands he will himself ally with the Ottomans against the Poles and Habsburgs. After all, from his point of view the Ottomans would be the more "manageable" overlords.
In any case, if he is to survive 20 more years he will need a lot of skill and luck. And even such a long reign may not be enough to consolidate the new state. First, this "Romania" will probably have the same "elective monarchy" system with the same rules of eligibility which was so troublesome for the individual Romanian countries, and is very likely to result in political instability and foreign intervention, and could tear the new state apart in just a few years. Second, this state is unlikely to be completely independent (see above) and the soverign power will likely want to separate the 3 provinces again after Michael's death. This way it can make 3 appointments to 3 political clients instdead of just one.
A surviving Michael the Brave could create huge butterflies in the history of central europe, butterflies that I can't even begin to catalogue, but is unlikely to result in an early united Romania.
What do other people think?

BTW, does this count as a necroing if the thread wasn't alive in the first place?
