Men's legs

WI it were acceptable for us males to wear short trousers in normal work contexts.

Would it also be fashoinable to shave legs?

Any other thoughts?

You have something to tell us?

Well, it seems postmen throughout the UK compete to wear shorts for as long as possible into the winter months.

I suppose unless part of a uniform that compliments it (like tropical rig with white shoes) they just look silly: how could one wear smart office shoes with shorts?

And I doubt it'd mean having to shave one's legs. That'd just look weird, especially if the guy has hairy arms and is wearing a short sleeve shirt.

Think this through with me: if men wore shorts as part of formal summer business attire, air conditioners in the USA would be set to 75F instead of 70F. (Ever notice how women often complain about how cold the office is? Studies have shown that, surprise, it's because women's business clothing is more revealing than men's.) This would result in incredible energy savings: in most industrialized nations, electricity use in the summer peaks dramatically around noon-5 pm because that's when air conditioners work their hardest. If the peaks were smaller, then fewer "peaker" facilities need to be constructed, and peaker facilities by definition are the most expensive ones to operate (if they weren't, you'd run them all the time and run something else in peak hours). So shorts could actually be a significant part of a green energy plan!

Strangely enough it's also acceptable in Australia is most workplaces, in fact it's a constant battle to get employees to not wear thongs(flip-flops) or sandals in summer as it is against safety regs.

Thank you for reminding us Americans that you mean footwear when you say thongs! American thongs would definitely be against safety regs! :D

How about, the length of the pants legs would be proportional (or indirectly proportional) to the status/rank of the person in the organization?:D

Not if you are a pole dancer.:D

yeah it is acceptable in most non-office jobs.
And shaving legs is the last thing you do if you're going to wear shorts. The hairier and manlier the better it would seem.

As far as I know, women don't like extremely hairy/fury like a gorilla men aside from Rule 34 exceptions.
