Media and entertainment industry without world wars

Imagine a typical scenario where there are no major global wars during the 20th century. There will still be bloody conflict, of course, perhaps even pitting two or more great powers against one another in some capacity, but nothing nearly as destructive as what we saw in our world, at least in Western Europe.

How does the global media and entertainment industry evolve in such a world? I have seen it argued once or twice that the First World War effectively snuffed out much of the early European film industry, allowing Hollywood to establish early dominance. If that is the case, how might the history of cinema unfold with Europe and America on roughly equal footing?

When does television develop, and how does it impact a world likely dominated by colonial empires?

What genres of entertainment might be more or less popular in such a world? What about sports?

What about sports?
Regarding sports, I imagine that football or soccer would be even more dominant than now, since before the great depression and ww1 the game was very popular even in the us. Sports that became popular for political reasons, like some American sports in countries heavily influenced by American culture wouldn't be as relevant.
In general, with more money in the hands of more consumers worldwide the sport industry would be even more massive than it is now

Interesting thought. I imagine that it might also be true that baseball would be somewhat less popular outside of North America in such a world, as American culture would not be so globally dominant.
