Maximum Austrian expansion into the Balkans?

With a POD no later than 1640., what is the maximum ammount of land Austria could control in the Southeastern Europe and the Balkans?

If the Ottomans go to war with Russia and Austria, perhaps after the Napoleonic Wars, and before Britain enacts the policy of 'containment' against Russia, and then internally collapses, then you could see the Austrians, with the help of the Russians make huge gains in the Balkans.

Although, with all of the problems Austria had OTL in the Balkans, unless they pull off a multinational state solution, which is pretty damn unlikely with their conservative policies, then Austria is limited to how much it can take, without shattering their empire.

Prevent the Austrians from entering the war 1736 to 1739 and they keep Belgrade. Let them win that war and they'll likely get Bosnia. Then do something about the Prussians, which weakened Austria and prevented them to exploit their next victory and possibly butterflied away further Austro-Russian wars.

One thing to consider here is that with Prussia destroyed, for example during the seven years war, or never coming up anyway, then Austria is the bulwark against Russian access to the Med. So both France and Britain may frequently be interested in Austria getting something rather than Russia.

Post-1815 possibly, and post-1848 certainly, the Austrians are largely reticent to obtaining more Slavic peoples - they have enough of them already. So Serbia and Bosnia are out (note that even Bosnia was not formally annexed in 1878, only occupied while formally remaining Ottoman, and the Austrians intended to eventually return it to them; their politics in Bosnia was to favor the Muslims over the Orthodox). On the other hand, an interesting possibility is the Danubian principalities (which they actually occupied 1854-1856 with Ottoman permission), which would grant them total control of the Danube- a long-term Habsburg goal. Keeping these territories would be possible (it would require them backstabbing the Russians; international agreement in the 1856 treaty, which is quite likely since they would have enthusiastic British support, and likely French too (or this could be bought off in exchange of concessions to Sardinia - maybe this would be too sane for the Habsburgs at this point?); and, hardest of them all, the Magyars accepting more Roumanian people to enter the empire). This has interesting effects vis-a-vis the Russians, who are now unable to take the Straits...
