Mass Emigration From Britain to Continent?

In modern times (POD later than 1500 or so), what would it take for there to be at least one major ethnic group in Continental Europe that traces its ancestry to immigrants from England, Wales, Scotland, or Ireland, speaks English or a Celtic tongue (or a modified creole dialect of the host nation's language), and is a minority in a state ruled by a local nation?

Bonus points if there are multiple groups from different nations in Britain that ended up in the same adopted country, and have political history with each other stemming from whatever caused them to leave the British Isles.

A number of Scots migrated to Europe as merchants and as soldiers in history, to the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, and Russia. It's estimated that the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth contained up to 40,000 Scots, and perhaps as many as one million people in the Netherlands might have Scottish ancestry. Most of these communities assimilated into the local population, however.

I'd think that, given the cultural and religious differences, the Scots would be more likely to maintain their culture in Eastern Europe. Perhaps if the American colonies are less willing to accept Irish Catholic immigration, many Irish might head east to Russia instead?

Did you forget the Bretons?
