Mary, Queen of Scots as Archduchess of Austria

Suppose Mary, Queen of Scots marries Archduke Charles, the son of Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor.

As opposed to Francis II? I don't think that would happen. Scotland and France are still in the Auld Alliance, so why would the Queen of Scotland marry an Austrian Archduke? France and Austria still hate each other.

This would no doubt be after Francois II's death, when Mary was personally ruling Scotland.
