Okay so hear me out: we all know that the Austro-hungarian army was rather ineffective during WW1. Could the resources used by Austro-Hungary be used better?
What I'm thinking about is a Central powers compromised of a Grossdeutschland which is German Empire + Austria + Bohemian crown and a Habsburg Hungary w/ Galicia and Bosnia as ally (and Bulgaria and the Ottomans ofc). The rest stays the same. (I'm not asking how this would be possible, because that requires some serious PoD, and has some serious butterflies. I'd doubt there would even be a WW1 tbh.)
The war would still break out because of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, except this time as heir to only Hungary and not Austro-Hungary. Mobilization and war-declaring happens as in OTL, as do the initial war-plans.
Would the Central powers do it better? Worse? How would the minorities manage? (I'd imagine Czech nationalism would look very different.) Which front would see the most change ? (I'd assume the Italian, if the Italians would even join)
