Marilyn Monroe lives

WI she had managed to deal with some of her demons. I think I heard she has suffered a miscariage during her marriage to Miller.

Would she have faded as just another movie star?

If not what might she have achieved?

She'd be approximately 80 by now, assuming she's still alive. One suspects she would probably have moved into what might be called latter day Mae West-style roles as time passed. She'd have been in her early 50s, for example, when "Roger Rabbit" was made; it's not out of the question to see her in Joanna Cassidy's role in that movie, for example. These days, assuming she were still getting the occasional role, she'd be cast as someone's outrageous grandmother/great-aunt.

Then too, one wonders what might have happened with respect to John F. Kennedy after he was shot: would she, at some point, have told all, and what ripple effects might that have had?

instead of Tyra Banks, she will host Americas Top Model....or end up renting a room with a senile jane mansfield

She was a better actress than most give her credit for and a good friend of Shelley Winters. This means she had great respect for her craft and probably would have studied and moved into more challenging roles as time moved on (as Winters did).

Hard to give any specific titles. I think she would have given a whole different, (and very refreshing) slant to The Graduate had she played Mrs Robinson.

I think her last role would be the old lady on the Titanic.

Let this long-dead thread live again!

I totally concur with you Bonne-lad. Tailor made for the role in The Graduate. Not quite so sure about the Titanic role, but what the hell!
