…The third non-League state, the Hapaji Special District, was formed from the Native Reserves of the Asian colonial powers on the North American continent when the locals refused to be included in the Reorganization. The Greater Yellow Mountains Region of the IL never trusted its former colonized peoples, and erected an "Iron Curtain" of military districts to protect nearby population centers from hypothetical Hapaji attacks. However, the Special District had more than enough internal problems, usually relating to the divide between the ethnic-Hapaji-dominated south and the non-Hapaji peoples of the north and southeast. After initial violence, they settled into a confederation, but it too split into factions. The south was dominated by the Hapaji Alliance for Prosperity (HAP), comprised mostly of ethnic-Hapaji chiefdoms which favored strong ties with the IL. The north was dominated by the Indigenous Peoples' Sovereignty Pact (IPSP), a more egalitarian and isolationist faction. There were often small violent incidents between the two sides, although the District's government was able to prevent full-blown warfare.…
…Although many civilizations across the timelines have perished in nuclear warfare, -350Bf is one of the tragic few that appeared to have reached the safety of a united Earth before it's destruction. The flaw of -350Bf's International League was its tolerance for the half-dozen states existing outside the League structure, and particularly for New Hellas, which during its seclusion had grown increasingly reactionary and paranoid. In the morning of March 12th, +2130, it launched its vast stockpiles of nuclear missiles at hundreds of targets across the globe. The reason for the strike is unclear, as New Hellas and three non-League states suspected of assisting it were annihilated in retaliation. The attack, retaliation, and their chaotic aftermath are collectively known as the World War.…
…The Hapaji Special District, which had not been a target of either the New Hellene attack or (thanks to the HAP's League-friendly policies) the League retaliation, would come to play an important role in -350Bf's post-apocalyptic North America. The Special District government itself, led by Anawo "the Red Chief," did not last long. Conflict erupted between the HAP and IPSP blocs while Anawo was presiding over a council in his own chiefdom. The capital was seized by IPSP forces, and Anawo raised his own army to retake it. When it was clear that government forces would be unable to prevent warfare, all order collapsed. Anawo himself was killed in battle in December +2130, but by then even the HAP forces had long been out of his control. Both sides committed genocide, the HAP against the Chirko people of the southeast and the IPSP against the Northen Hapaji. The two armies, along with independent groups, also attacked what remained of International League control, dismantling what was left of the "Iron Curtain" in a few surprise attacks and fighting local League citizens for precious resources. The most successful campaign was in the former Silver River District to the north, which would hold the most prominent North American state to survive the World War, ruled by chiefs descended from the chiefs of the northern HSD panhandle…

A map showing the support for the People's Party of Mexico, a Communist party that gained peaceful control of Mexico and thrived with it's less radical communism, becoming the annoyance of the United States who painted every communist nation as radical and bound to fail. They support the Communist's in Central America though, who are embroiled in what is known as the Central American Civil War as they topple government after government, many U.S. supported. In the middle lies the Rio Grande Republic, a result of the Second Mexican-American War, and early ally of the US, it has pushed out the influence of the US in it's President's search for the creation of a Rio Grande identity, separate from Mexico and the United States.
