I just finished making these countries. I'm too lazy to work out the lore, so come up with your own conclusions.

The point people are making though is that at the end of the day, the details of that don't really matter at all for the setting. We'll take it at your word that there was a nuclear war that destroyed civilization at whatever point you say it occurred. You don't need detailed research into which locations were targeted by nukes or when a thermonuclear war would've canonically broken out in TNO - you could completely fabricate the details and people would enjoy the project to the same extent, because the war itself shouldn't be the focus of the setting - the new world centuries later (in this case Hyrule) should be.
Why don't you use an up-to-date map in your favorite projections?, such as WorldA (what you are using) or Q-BAM (WorldA but larger) or 2K or 8K-BAM ("flat" style and very up-to-date, XK is my favorite!) map schemes?, you are using a world map straight from 2005 when there are very up-to-date maps right on the alternate history maps and graphics forum section, here are some useful threads for you and any new map-maker reading this:

The Reorganised United States - Arapaho
This is based on a thread of @erictom333's where he is reorganising the subdivisions of every country in the world. I plan on doing a map for every new state of the US.
Uh... I think whoever made that map forgot that Ukraine and Belarus are independent nations, not part of Russia (even if Russia has invaded Ukraine). That's a pretty massive oversight for an "Up to date" world map. That’s not an IOTL map because that map is for Sorairo’s Bush vs the Axis of Evil.
Is this supposed to be a "borders correspond more to local ethnic groups" map?
I know this is a bit late but I have an Archkingdom of Germany-Austria in my side TL
Both boxes have the same label, and some of the colors are a bit similar.
Updated the map. Fixing an error in one of the legend boxes and did some changes to borders. The Wyoming Basin now being territory of Hyrule Kingdom's territory and the Colorado Plateau portion of the Eldin Region is inhabited both by the Gerudo and Gorons considering some of the civilizations the Gerudo are inspired by such as Mesa Verde and the Pueblo Settlements are in that area.

My friend, this is an ALTERNATE history forum, that is an ALTERNATE history map.
It’s made clear in the post that it’s the map for some TL just made using that worlda as a base.
A little late, but that's where ancient Barbaria was (though it was Somali rather than Amazigh).
This map is from the Bush vs. the Axis of Evil timeline, not OTL, you can also notice that Kurdistan is independent, the Sinai is independent, and the Koreas are (semi-)reunited.

It just occurred to me that strangely, there hasn't been a WorldA map for Protect & Survive in spite of the og TL being around for over a decade by now; I get that a good chunk of the Northern hemisphere would be covered with nuclear strikes, worlda-wise, but that's no excuse to cover something like WWIII going nuclear like everyone would thought it would (and understandably so).
It's interesting to include that, but not more of Iran and some of Turkey.
