The gold highlights along the coast of the world maps represent all areas within 50m of sea level. The reasoning behind this is that the gold areas represent likely coastal plains, since when you raise sea level by 500m most of the coast becomes jagged mountains without anywhere for new coastal metropolii! In this raised-sea-level-world, new coastal metropolii will likely arise in the gold areas.
do you have a climate map of this world?

Hey everyone, I’m back with another exclusive map from the print version of the People’s Socialist Atlas. It’s coming out in TWO DAYS, so get ready! It’s 400 pages of lore and maps I worked extremely hard on. I’m looking forward to releasing it to the world, and I hope you’ll buy it! The link to the website you can purchase it on will be posted on December 7th.

Today’s map is of India. :)

I'm sure it's a bit late to change it, but it might be a good idea to make the provincial capitals and capitals of other countries to be different.

I’ll be done. I’ve enjoyed my time here, but it’s time to move on. Plus, people won’t exactly remember me anyway :p

Heres my advice here, even if overall you move on if you enjoy it here Id still recommend staying here casually for a while, you know? Thats just my two cents though, you should obviously do whatever is best for you

Won't remember you? Once the People's Socialist Atlas is published the Turtledove Awards will be renamed after you.
"All of those in favor of renaming the Turtledove Awards, say aye,"

Continent shaking force of the combined shout of the AH Commoner Population "Aye,"

"All of those in favor of renaming the Turtledove Awards, say aye,"

Why, though?

I mean this with absolutely no offence intended to Upvoteanthology, but Harry Turtledove basically pioneered mainstream (as mainstream as it can get, I suppose) alternate history. Upvote has made some nice-looking maps, and I'm sure she's worked hard on the Atlas, but only a handful of people know alternate history, and a smaller handful know about this particular thread, so it's not as though her influence on the genre has been especially great.

I love the maps, but the culture of the board isn't about to change because of them. (A lot of people have made some astounding maps equal to or even greater than Upvote's, is what I mean, and nobody's called for the Turtledoves to be renamed because of those).

Show me these damn maps then.

I'm not going to go trawling through eighteen map threads to prove my point. Zuawari's maps come to mind, though. They're not of ATL's, but the quality is phenomenal, better than Upvote's for sure. But of course, I have no doubt people will get defensive about this, because these days saying something is better than something else automatically registers as the something else being bad. Upvote's maps are beautiful and she is superbly talented. They're just not the best I've ever seen.

So does the presence of all those settlements in the Andaman islands mean the local groups have been wiped out? That would be a shame.

Hopefully this is map-related enough to count! I've been learning a bit about web design lately so I can start putting all the stuff I draw together into one more-or-less coherent (and well-crosslinked) experience. Here's one of the page mockups:

German Confederation in Crisis
Part of my Dominions of America timeline

The German Confederation stands on the brink of war with itself. After the successful Schleswig War where the German Confederation finally settled the Schleswig-Holstein Question. However, Prussia has always hated the liberal German Confederation and only took part as to keep their status in the rest of Germany and has occupied Schleswig-Holstein and is clearly aiming to take keep it for themselves, by force if necessary. The German Confederation's government however wants to set up Schleswig-Holstein up as a liberal republic. Tensions between Prussia and the government in Frankfurt are at an all time high. France is still eyeing its lost lands and elements in the army are feeling confident after France's victory over the Italians and its new place of undisputed protector of the Catholic faithful. Hungary is content with its own little "empire" (although they would hate it if you called it that) but still has close ties with Austria. The Poles hate the Prussians and want to take Warsaw and more, and the Czechs just want the damn Germans to stop saying it belongs with them.

Just a quick question: which color do you usually use for ATL Oman and Madagascar besides their primary ones? I don't see a lot of options for these 2 in all the schemes we have.
