Before this devolves into a political shouting match, as it's not my intention, I wouldn't call this a "conservative wet dream." There have been more blatant ones out there.

What I can say, though, is that you're entitled to your own take on it as is anyone. Make of the map as you will.

Fair enough. I've edited my post. But the political implications in the map are obvious and there are still massive issues with the plausibility of most of the events depicted in the map. You mostly handwave the resolution of virtually every major global conflict and several more which never came to pass.

Keep in mind, it's still a TL-15. And not really a "conservative" one at that either.

Given the timeframe is large enough for more evident divergences, it should not only be be emphasized that not all of the historical events played out as OTL right after 1989. But also that some of the decisions made, not necessarily the best possible ones, would have some unforeseen consequences and thus some potential butterflies.

Also, just a head's up, the changes in political parties in the US (as well as the "Great Culture War" mentioned) really happens after the 1992 elections and thus after the 1992 LA riots which weren't even brought up at all. Apart from that, again, you're entitled to your views. Agree to disagree and all.

I guess that's kind of a world I would like to live in (minus South Africa becoming a hellholle and the "New Comintern" still a thing.
Holy Text Wall!

Editing replies, as long as properly indicated, is perfectly acceptable.

I know about the rule, but we gotta address one problem (which might explain why Tomislav posted more than three images): Where is the rule? Like, where does it say you can only post three images a day? I'm seriously asking, because as of now people might never realize the rule exists.

For my part: I decided to just keep the whole of the content in one post, with minimum wall of text, as it is all related to one theme.
I do understand, that adding another map post today would be a clear violation.
My question is, whem comparing my post to other posts in the thread, whether there should be also a rule for text walls on the thread.

To be fair, I haven't posted my TL 15 map here since some users would take offense to my stance on the nonsensical culture war and other social-political issues.

So about three map threads ago I had posted my progress on the Dreamlands for my ASB map project.

Since then I've made a ton of progress on the map, but my computer started having RAM issues in December. I've only recently been able to regain access to the full WIP and since it's been so long I figured I'd post an update on my progress.

The colors are terrible and hard to sort out and figuring out which country is what is kind of annoying, which is why the first finished version will be a simplified geopolitical map. Most of the Dreamland's geography has been worked out; consolidation based on my notes for the world begins here. Also, Earth is due an update. I am happy to say that this map is now set in the past as it's dated to 2011-2018 and the full version should have a writeup to explain most of what's going on. Good luck deciphering it; feedback is welcome.

An open ISOT scenario where modern day Poland and Israel are ISOTed to September 10 1939 right after Germany and the USSR finished their invasion Poland.

As a Brazilian, i'll just have to ask... how the hell is a restoration of the Brazilian monarchy supposed to bring the country back from poverty and underdevelopment? None of Brazil's underlying issues of societal inequality or stratification (which already happen here, IOTL) would be solved by just appointing some random dude as king. Not to mention that monarchist sentiment in Brazil, while surely real, is mostly treated as a joke here. There's no credible point in restoring the dynasty of Pedro II when the damage has already been done and dragged out for 130 years. One of the current claimants to the throne is a representative in Congress, and has recently infamously stated that "slavery is a natural part of humanity", and credited the successes of the abolitionist movement to "christian mentality".
Since i'm allowed to express my opinions on your piece just as you're allowed to claim it is a personal opinion, then... i'm afraid i'll have to say that this is poorly thought out. This is the main problem i have with TL-15's -- more often than not, they ignore the grievances of people from countries other than the mapmaker's own.

Someone's ideal world. The only "rule" I'm aware of concerning them (though I might be wrong) is that the POD must fall within your birth year.

Suddenly, inspiration strikes me...
Full ruleset:
"Basically, Timeline 15 is a timeline in which things are just the way you like them. Your best possible timeline. Things that you like are popular, things that you dislike are unpopular.

Your political candidate of choice is doing well, your crush likes you back, you're healthy and happy. The way you currently dress is fashionable in Timeline 15, movies and tv-shows you enjoy are a critical and financial success while those you dislike are failures over there. Your favorite music is topping the charts, your favorite videogames are the most played, etc.

The catch is that Timeline 15 diverged from our world on the day of your birth and not sooner, so whatever Points of Departure you're introducing cannot happen earlier and the world was exactly like OTL until you were born."

Tbh this is kind of sad. Serious "pop culture as personal identity" vibes coming off of this. Nothing about the material conditions of your part of the world or social class being improved. Nothing about war or peace or justice for those wronged. Just a kind of juvenile "I wish I was cool in high school" kind of wish fulfillment.
