Yes, I realized this a bit later, I was just initially confused by the lack of his name being crossed out. I left my post unedited because the reason for the ban was more the user's general approach to the board than any single incident, so it's still possible for people to speculate which action was the straw that broke the camel's back. I get it, I'm also not surprised that this finally happened, it just seemed to be a bit gravedance-y is all.Just FYI, KitFisto was banned for being a general racist, so it wasn't speculation.
Why do the Japanese have the Philippines? My "realistic" Axis victory scenario. For what it's worth. Map shows the situation of the world in 1948.
POD is a combination of "Moscow, not Kiev in 1941" and "Germans appeal to USSR nationalities instead of opressing them".

Europe:
German hegemony is now established firmly through the continent. Their destruction of France in 1940 was followed up by an invasion of the USSR a year later. It was enormously successful at first, obliterating the Red Army and rolling on to Moscow. A Russian National Government was established in Petrograd 1942, but this did not mark the end of the Soviet Union. It was not until 1943 that the the Germans were able to fully expel the Soviets from southern Russia. The Germans have never been able to actually destroy the Soviet army or the its government, since each time it is uprooted it retreats eastward. The current front line has remained more or less stable for five years now, punctuated by German campaigns (such as the as the partially successful Astrakhan Expedition of 1945) or Soviet raids.
Europe itself has settled under a stable status quo. German authority is not challenged anywhere, but Italy, Spain, and Turkey are major secondary powers in the the Axis and pursue a largely independent policy. Without the threat of the Soviet Union or a major Axis military campaign to give Berlin leverage, many European countries are attempting to forge their own spheres of influence. Franco's regime has been doing clandestine dealings with London for some time now.
Africa and the Middle East:
These are two of the last fronts of the war. The terrain and sheer size of East Africa and Iran are not conducive to large scale warfare, however, and the back-and-forth fighting here is not considered very important in the larger scheme of things.
Asia:
The Sino-Japanese war is still ongoing as of 1948, with the Chinese holding on in mountainous and remote regions. Japan's southern thrust in 1944-1946 captured huge amounts of land, but they have never been able to fully secure this area. A Chinese offensive in Innr Mongolia actually succeed in recaptured considerable amounts of territory. Meanwhile the Communists decided to relocate to Shantung after their home base in Shensi was briefly occupied by the Japanese.
Japan decided to invade the USSR in late 1941 after the stunning German victory in European Russia. This diverted resources from the planned attack on the western powers. In 1942 Japan reached a rapprochement of sorts with the US. The US debated intervention after Japan invaded SE Asia in 1944, but although the Allies have received enormous support from the US, it is still a neutral power.
I mean, they pretty much conquered it IOTL before MacArthur took it backWhy do the Japanese have the Philippines?
Oops. I'll change it. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. Why do the Japanese have the Philippines?
How'd they get the rivers in the middle of the desert? Green Sahara? Something to do with Lake Megachad being recreated through either damming the Congo or some other means (like bringing more water in from space)? And why do they use the title of oba when that's a Yoruba title?
I love this map so much! Its very rare we get something African based at all, and the work you've put into in knitting a Chad basin region together through canals looks stunning!
I can't see the image.
I updated it with the deviantart picture and a link.

Hello! This is my submission to the current Map Contest. It depicts an imaginary poster for a post office in a world where the Union of Brazil and Portugal, something that actually happened for a few years, continued. Portugal colonized Africa very early IRL, but with the manpower from brazil, it managed to colonize most of the "pink" map and more before the British did. This did create some tensions after the berlin conference as britain wanted to link their territories in congo with south africa, and they proposed an international zone, but brazil-portugal refused, eventually they stroke a deal and brazil-portugal offered to give half its part of congo and recognize all of the british colonies, the UK didn't have a lot of choice especially after the second boer war, where they lost in this timeline. Brazil-portugal also accepted to join England in a potential war with germany, which as IRL happened, and they decided to partition the german colonies.
Thanks to immigration effort, by 1937 (the year in which this poster was made), more than 10 million Portugueses and Brazilians live in africa, accounting for a large minority (40%) of the territories. The african territories were awarded equal status as Portugal or Brazil in the 1920s as a reward for the fighting in ww1, despite this few black people are citizens and segregation is still widespread.

Inspired by the Aladdin achievement from CK2. Here a Chinese mercenary replaces what would go on to become the Tulunids and eventually a Chinese dynasty is formed in the region. Just a concept as of now.
