Map of the Mecklenburg general election of 2017:
RMxALp6.png

The election reflected the growing instability in neighboring Prussia, and saw a small downswing for the NGP and small upswings for the opposition FLP and Socialists. While the NGP lost their majority, they retained government with the support of a number of independent regional representatives.

More on the parties over in the Graphic Thread.

That's an interesting electoral system.

Map 2.5 – Other nations

A short summary of some nations around the globe, especially the rogue ones - Italy and Southwest Africa. A very interesting nation is the Republic of Reunion - this timeline Taiwan.

Here's something new for the new year: a new map-profile! This one, though, is a much polished and significantly expanded version of the Mobile Suit Gundam: UC Beyond Earth (UC 0079-0153) map, though now encompassing the entire Universal Century/UC Gundam setting. The DeviantArt link can be found here.

As much as possible, I try to keep very close to the source material, incorporating not only various UC works such Stardust Memory, Gundam Unicorn, Zeta Gundam, 08th MS Team and Thunderbolt. But also works set after UC 0100, such as Gundam F91, Victory Gundam and Crossbone Gundam (with further UC Gundam info here as well as in-universe Anaheim Electronics material here), many of which show the long-term repercussions of the original One Year War. At the same time, there are some creative licences taken to make things as consistent as possible while staying true in spirit to the originals. Partly this is due to incorporating elements from an older map cover (set in UC 0083) and because of how there's relatively less to work with post-UC 0100. That being said, Sunrise/Bandai are said to be working on new projects set after Unicorn (including an anime adaptation of Hathaway's Flash) which would make things rather interesting.

As an aside, the flag used for the 1919 Egyptian Revolution was used both to symbolize the general location of many anti-Earth Federation rebels in-universe and how at least some of said rebels have explicitly religious motives alongside evidently nationalist ones. Mahdi Garvey from Unicorn, for instance is mentioned as being an Islamic militant and the "last son of Dubai," while the South Seas Alliance from Thunderbolt has heavy Buddhist influence.

And of course, this is a fan work and a work of fiction. This is not meant to be propaganda or a political or ideological spiel. All rights belong to their respective owners.

Hope you see the tears of time...erm, enjoy this piece of work as much as I did in making it!

I think it is unlikely that an independent Mecklenburg has Vorpommern unless it has a post WW2 pod. Because the only way I see them combining is loss of Hinterpommern and a German government combining them. So unless it is an East German/modern German successor state I find those borders weird. But its still a great map/idea.

I just want a quick survey on this. I'm doing world building and wondering which version for a restored Byzantine Empire due to the Greek Plan is better (both aesthetically and ideologically). The idea is that after about 80 years being under the Russian's thumb, they managed to slip pass and started building up their power. Then they either:

1/ Expand militarily, looking to further destroy the Ottomans and take Macedonia from Bulgaria. Already gained a colony in Cyrenaica during The Scramble for Africa.

2/ Or expand diplomatically, knowing they could not make enemies of their neighbors. On one hand they reconciled with their former nemesis the Ottomans by investing in their newly found oil field, on the other hand, they increased their presence globally by affecting Orthodox affairs and mediating between Western Europe and Russia. They gained religious prestige by purchasing coastal Cyrene and Alexandria from Two Sicilies and Austria respectively.

the second one sounds more interesting.

Jesus. Do you have a thread for this universe anywhere? I'd love to see more.

Hmm I was wondering whether Trauvancian and Karjatansian are based on Polish or Slovene?

It wouldn't be a direct correlation since those ethnic groups wouldn't exist as they do in OTL. However, I can say for naming conventions on the cities I've taken inspiration from Polish and Czech. The names of the countries were mostly determined by @FancyHat

Hello!

Kanan's timeline Our Fair Country has inspired many users on this server to start their own graphic timeline, and with the current contest i wanted to make a tribute to the wonderful world she created.
This is the result of way more time than i'm willing to admit, and i'm quite proud of it even if it didn't reach the quality i hoped it would, i'll likely continue (slowly) working on it to improve the shading and other details, but a deadline is a deadline (i made this map for the monthly contest)

This map was also inspired by the late Richard Edes Harrison's works, they are really diverse and show data in unexpected ways, i encourage people to check out his maps!

It was a very complex map to make, i used a variety of softwares, from blender to qgis to google sketchup to inkscape... It was very entertaining and instructive to make

I can't begin to express how much I love this map series. There's something about the designs of the map and infographics that are real nice.
