Well just as we expected the Kievans and the Pan-East-Slavic have just complained to head office about our sibling Universe – our sibling Black Khanate. It seems like this variant of ours have overstepped their lust for conquest and destruction.

Although no actions are expected we might have to impose some sort of sanctions to our parallel universe. Nevertheless we have received assurances from the Panslavic Multiverse Forum and our own Multiverse Kurultai that the sanctions will not have any significant repercussions on our parallel Universe. As a matter of fact unofficial sources say that they are excited to study how their parallel self’s are copping being slaves to the Black Khanate. How curious of them.

The Grand Multiverse Kurultai has decided to send a representative to inspect the Black Khanate and we are expected to contribute to this fact finding mission.

Anyway what I wanted to give you with this transmission is the current tally of slaves and kills from our parallel Black Khanate:

In other words, if all the mass in one universe was converted into alien slaves, and each one of those slaves conquered their own parallel universe and converted all that universe's mass into slaves, and then all the resulting slaves each conquered an additional parallel universe and converted that universe's full mass into slaves, that number of slaves compared to the total would be less than the mass of a proton compared to our universe.

At the same time, i’ve Tried to use GIS to uh... copy your map style, and the coastlines are a bit too detailed (at least with the natural earth dataset) for your elegantly simplified style.

Also making spreadsheets is half the fun

My map style is stolen direct from Wikipedia, worry not. Getting the detail right is fun, if it's too detailed it looks messy, if it's not enough it looks bland. And true, spreadsheets are fun. It's satisfying to see all the numbers adding up.

Then, the Roman and Carthaginian empires destroy each other?

Like the Byzantine and Sassanid empires in OTL?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

In the final war between the two powers, Rome actually briefly occupies Britain, the Iberian Peninsula and sacks Carthage by naval attack, but in the fierce fighting the Romans exhaust so many of their resources that their occupation falls apart to overlooked enemies. Iberian and Celtic rebellions and mass invasion of Celtic and Germanic tribes. The Carthaginians then ambush and capture Roman armies in southern Iberia, making a temporary recovery and consolidate their core lands in North Africa while conquering Sicily. Carthage however is forced to give up authority to Numidian/Berber kingdoms and Basque mercenaries, who eventually revolt and form their own statelets. Rome and Carthage both persist for some time as small city-states periodically attempting to reconquer their old territories, only to be sacked by Berbers and Germanic tribes respectively. The invading "Barbarians" would later integrate themselves into existing Roman and Punic institutions and attempt to act as preservers of the ancient culture, but by then then a more "medieval" world has emerged.

Is Rome still a Republic, or a Empire?

What of the East? Did Rome ever get around to conquering Greece and Asia Minor and beating up the Seleucid Empire, or has Rome become so focus on Carthage, they stay in the western Mediterranean? (And if so, how does the East look like?)

Rome attempts to preserve the illusion of being a Republic but is more of an empire, like the Principate.

In the East, the Carthaginians conquered Egypt, while the Romans expanded into Greece and Asia Minor. The Carthaginians attempted to reconquer Phoenicia, although because of realpolitik and the threat of Parthia, they ceded it to the Seleucids, who remain a semi-neutral state between Rome, Carthage, and Parthia. Judaea also emerged as an independent state largely in Punic orbit.

Ideology, mythology, and iconoclasm has infused both sides of the conflict. In the east, the Romans seek to destroy Tyre and Phoenicia to humiliate Carthage, and the Carthaginians the same for Rome's "ancestors" of Troy and Hellenized cities.

Wait, how are they both Parthians and Seleucids?

Maybe instead have the Seleucids be the main Hellenized power of the East. (Conquering Asia Minor, most of Greece, maybe even Egypt.) Rome is simply too busy against Carthage and Carthage knows that the Seleucids could beat them far worst then the Romans. (At the very least, Egypt beats back the Carthaginians, or they not interesting.)

Hmmm. It seems that Hesse-Nassau has a little line at the bottom. While I would have assumed it was to connect the two portions of the Grand Duchy of Hesse, I can see that only one of them has the dark red, and Germany is probably socialist here. Ahh, and going to add British Gibraltar? Also, I see the borders in the Rhineland show the Belgian and British occupation zones.

Cool idea. I wonder how big the known multiverse is in this scenario, and what other big empires are out there.

The short answer - infinite. But to give you a perspective: consider that every single decision (be it small/irrelevant or large/important) and event in your life creates an alternate universe, and multiply it for an infinite number of people in an infinite number of universes in a multiverse that is basically infinite. You basically get an infinite infinity of parallel universes. And since time and space is irrelevant in the multiverse there is every conceivable parallel universe out there. 20th Century Earth centric ones to gigantic Universe empires like the ones I posted before. And every single person and event in this universes creates infinite numbers of parallel universes.

252 - Roman Victory over the rebelling Samnites; Roman financial and manpower weariness
251 - Carthaginian counter invasion of Italy
250 - Carthaginian Victory over Rome in a Battle near Capua; Rome surrenders;
Magna Graecia under the leadership of Tarent splits off of Rome

Due to the drainage of man and coins Carthage can't take the whole of Sicily and
Tarent/Magna Graecia and Syracuse form an alliance.
In the following years Carthage expands its holds in Africa and Hispania
