Interesting idea. I'd expect an "independent" Poland in the German orbit under these circumstances.[AIMAGE]
December, 1916: the end of World War I. POD is Japan losing the Russo-Japanese War, leading to greater political instability than in OTL, and an anarcho-communist revolution in 1910. Around the same time, there was a communist revolution in Brazil against the oligarchs and the Coronelismo system, and republicans in Portugal assassinated the royal family. In Mexico, an anarchist uprising split the country in half, with the north being occupied by the United States in an effort to restore order to Mexico. WWI was fought from 1914 to 1916 between France, Britain, Russia, Romania, and Serbia; and Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. Severe Italian losses in the Alps and growing famine at home caused the country to burst into revolution, destabilizing the Alpine front long enough for the Entente to make a well coordinated offensive from both the east and west, pushing into Germany and Austria-Hungary. With the Entente on German soil, the German High Command decided to make an armistice with the Entente and negotiate peace terms.
All that heavy, steamy Prussian on Austrian action and decadent border Gore is too much for innocent eyes. You have to be 13 years or older to use this forum. Therefore, nine year olds are not allowed.
Following the controversy of Ian Smith’s United National Party government, the 1977 election saw a landslide victory for Denis Worrall’s Liberal Party, promising to halt South Africa’s growing global isolation and adopt a path of reform, with the aim of universal suffrage by the next election. Worrall’s term saw widespread consultation with many groups, which eventually resulted in the drafting of a new constitution, which included:
The new constitution was then put to a referendum in 1981, in which all people groups could vote. The new constitution was approved by 78% of the voters, prompting the issuing of writs for a new general election for the next year, in which all South Africans would have the right to vote.
- a guarantee of equal suffrage
- abolition of the provinces and their replacement with new states
- abolition of the South African monarchy and replaced it with a parliament-appointed Chief Executive
- the renaming of the cities of Robertsville and Watersridge to Tshwane and Gauteng, respectively.
The 1982 election was South Africa’s first fully democratic election, without regard to race, wealth or gender. After the ratification of South Africa’s new constitution, which replaced the Union of South Africa with the Commonwealth of South Africa in 1981, South Africa’s first non-racial elections were held, with nine parties contesting the election. Incumbent Prime Minister Denis Worrall attempted to retain his position on a platform of continuing the reforms his party had begun. The election also saw record turnout, with millions exercising their new-found right to vote. Ultimately, Allan Hendricks won the election, becoming South Africa’s first non-white Prime Minister. Among his promises were fair wealth redistribution to improve standards of living nationally, and a National Reconciliation Commission. Entering into a coalition with the African People’s Party (led first by Oliver Tambo and then Nelson Mandela), Hendricks faced the challenge of reuniting a divided nation.
Review questions:
1. Based on the map above, identify geographic patterns in the distribution of votes for three parties.
2. Suggest why turnout was so high at the election.
3. What was a key reason for Allan Hendricks’ victory?
4. Which parties formed a coalition after the coalition?
Is this from a textbook? If so:snip

Interesting. What's the series called?![]()
Here is a map entirely made for a YouTube series with an extensive universe. Some parts of it are obviously ASB since there is an Anglicized Brazil, a French India, and, of course, the new land masses that ignore criteria of geology.
There are also a couple easter eggs for people who get some of the references.
Better though still showing a fair few errors in Britain (I can't comment on Europe) - such as Elmet covering South Rheged, Deira having somehow annexed Ebrauc, Middle Angles being Mercia and having more SE borders, West Saxons larger, the lack of a Cynwiddion remnant between the East Saxons, East Angles, and Middle Angles. The whole thing seems more 575AD to me. What sources did you use again? And another one!
I’d question treating Veracruz as a distinct territory from the rest of Mexico, for instance, which would strike me as going too far in the other direction; can’t chop and change the definition of Mexico to ensure a yes victory either. I’m also not sure it is the obvious answer: one large, binding referendum makes more sense to most people than splitting states and having four or five distinct referenda. That’d be rolling out the red carpet to secessionists, as far as Washington is concerned.

Since this came back to life, here are 12 Romanias.
A1-Kingdom of Romania (1881-1937): The Romanian Principalities never gain Dobruja, and remain neutral in European Affairs for half a century. The Kingdom came to a end when the Nationalists took control over the country in 1937, when Romania alligned itself with the Third German Empire.
A2-Greater Romanian Republic (1990-Present): Romania seizes all of Banat in the treaty of Trianon. It eventually loses WW2 to the Soviets and loses Bessarabia, but when the Soviet Union fell, Bessarabia joined Romania again.
A3-Königreich Rümanien (1920-1941): Romania remains in the Central Powers and gains Bessarabia from Brest-Litovsk. When Germany won the war, Romania is slowly integrated into the Europashaft, and gets the common denomination of "Königreich Rümanien" for its proximity towards Germany.
B1-Romanian Iron Guard (1942-1944): When Ion Antonescu got rid of the Iron Guard, Germany invaded and put them in power. Romania eventually fell to Soviet occupation.
B2-Union of Romanian Peoples (1946-1996): The Union of Russia invaded Romania at the end of WW2 and took Moldavia from it.
B3-Free Romanian Republic (1919-Present): The first of the "Free Republics" that the Americans started setting over Europe after both Great Wars. Lots of McDonnalds's and Walmarts.
C1-Sultanate of Romania (1587-1823): The Ottoman vassals in Romania unite into the Sultanate of Romania. The sultanate eventually leaves the Ottoman Sphere and forms and uneasy alliance against them with Austria. The Sultanate ended in 1823 with a joint Paris-Pact invasion ordered by the French Empire and Russia.
C2-Province of Dacia Magna (452-1554): The Roman Empire expands towards Northern Europe, expanding the province of Dacia.
C3-Republic of Yuzhnarus (1919-Present): OTL Wallachia and Moldavia are settled by Eastern Slavs coming from Ukraine. The region changes between Ottoman, Hungarian and Russian occupation for almost 400 years, until it finally gains independence in the Russian Civil War. The Republic is declared, and it survives to the present day.
D1-Eastern Roman Empire (356-1044): The Roman Empire is divided into West, East and South. The East comes under the rule of a Dacian dynasty until its eventual end during the Second Migration Period.
D2-Romano-Illyrian Kingdom (452-1725): The Romanians either never leave Illyria or are pushed back and set a kingdom in the region. The Kingdom is vassalized by the Franks in the 800, and later is made a protectorate of the HRE. It ended with the Illyrian Revolution in 1725.
D3-Vampire Kingdom (1444-???): The Vampires take over Transylvania and prepare to invade Europe.
