why is ireland all just one kind of dialect?

wouldn't munster, ulster, lenister and connacht have some variation?

cool map regardless, but the 'only one' dialect in ireland is a bit confusing to me
To be more specific: I was playing around with England and Wales, and didn't really want to play around with Ireland and Scotland.

This is a map I've been working on for the past week or so, but I just can't get around to making a detailed scenario around it. I might eventually put up annotations in the future.
Water world Threper.png

The PoD is an ASB one; Nazi Scientist make a "Greenhouse Gas" bomb, but don't release it until secretly doing so in the year 1948, flooding the Globe with water, water everywhere. The map is set 50 years later, showing the state of the world. (Credits to RVBomally I think for the base map(Correct me if I'm wrong))

I have most of why things are the way they are set in my head, so feel free to ask any questions about it. If not, just enjoy the (hopefully) pretty colors. Happy Easter Monday!

Lovely map. But you've drowned my home state and the state i'm currently living in.
Thanks for that. :noexpression:

Based on the Historia Regum Britanniae, a pseudohistorical book written in the Middle Ages telling a story about how Britain was founded by Trojans. Obviously not historically accurate, but interesting! The names are all based on archaic descriptions and are also pretty wrong and anachronistic in parts. The dates don't match what they are OTL either, I tried to base it on the supposed date for the Fall of Troy in 1184BCE. The book would then go on to write about King Arthur's conquests of Northern Europe including Iceland.

A little late, but speaking as a fan of various pseudohistory this is dope. Not ever really do you see maps like this for that sort of subject, awesome job!

Thanks! Pseudohistory isn't something you hear much about, which is a shame because while it's contents are not accurate, it explains a lot of former histography!

I always appreciate a good a s t h e t I c, so it’s nice to see I can also deliver. I love making sure everything looks right and nice first, before actually figuring out the logistics of a scenario .

Thanks! Don’t worry, I fell ya, my home Provence is like 80% underwater. My feeling go out to you in (Louisiana, Florida, Delaware, Rhode Island, Connecticut, or New Jersey)

Megali Idea lives!

I see America itself did not make it, but the USSR did?

Also, you killed my family and homestate of Mississippi, but Tennessee lives so that's good.

I think this map deserve its own thread in the ASB board.

My home state is Arkansas. My current state is Florida.

BTW, did you base this off of a sea-level rise map that already exists?

pretty neat map, I'd be underwater considering the fact that I live in Delaware. I'd love to see a full write up for it if you have the chance.

Beautiful, Tomislav! I love linguistic maps. Pardon my ignorance, but is this a map of OTL 1066 or an ATL? The words "after the conquest by William of Normandy" make it sound like OTL, but my limited knowledge of British history tells me there was much more English (a Germanic language) being spoken at this time, so that makes it seem like an ATL. If it is an ATL, I'd love to know the story behind it!

Anyway, while we're on the theme of linguistics, here's a map I've been working on. It's not a linguistic map, but a map of a scenario centered around language...

That's a lot of Australias. Very Mad-Maxish down there?

Another map for my TL as I work on the next post

Prussia has been remarkably successful if it's been able to vassalize all those German states, including the catholic ones in the SW. Are some more in the way of allies?

Edit: ah, I had forgotten we had a Hohenzollern as Holy Roman Emperor. But the vassal nature of many states would be still a bit theoretical at this point?

Just out of curiosity, has Nader Shah been butterflied? Shortly after this OTL he took back *Azerbaijan for Persia.

1. That is the People's Federation of the Intermarum (roughly translated into English), its a communist-socialist state allied to the USSR but not firmly under its heel. Most things are run out of Prague, though the poles do have a fair bit of sway (Those poor landlocked Hungarians still managed to get flooded somehow). It has cordial relations with the Alpine Union next door, though things have warmed up in recent years.
2. Australia looks much worse than it is. It had its own version of an implosion of power that happened in the US, with local governments taking the lead. However, they reunited in a loose association known as the Australian Leauge, where each government can opt out of at any time, though a currency is shared. It also includes Zionist Kimberly, after the Isreal conundrum, New Zealand, and the Dutch federation of Paupa, which is a bit of a refugee state after the loss of the rest of Indonesia.
3.Yesserie. The Hellenists have done quite well for themselves in their rocky seaside landscape, having their own little bloc about them. They are closely allied with France and the Alpine Union (Though no shared economy), though have neutral relations with Yugoslavia, and piss poor ones with the Italians and Turks.
4.America had an implosion shortly after the Waves started crashing. State governments differed on their opinions on how to treat those displaced. Currently, none of the governments are officially the USA, as they all decided that would be too confusing, though that doesn't stop them all from claiming the rightful mantle as the TRUE successor to the Stars and Stripes (Well, except perhaps the Pacific republic of Jefferson).
5. Sorry about that. (Though Nashville is the second most important city in the [Not racist] Confederate States of America after the capital Atlanta)

I think this map deserve its own thread in the ASB board.

Well, I'm not one to start a thread for every map, but it got me thinking... Is there a thread for just Sea Level Rise maps? Well, If there wasn't one before, there is now!

My home state is Arkansas. My current state is Florida.

BTW, did you base this off of a sea-level rise map that already exists?

Shoot! I knew I forgot one! (Sorry Arkansasers[Is that right?])
I Based it off of the flooded map on the Wiki, which I believe was created by rvbomally, though I'm not sure. I modified it a little bit to flood the St. Lawerence and other areas. A Blank one is available at that above mentioned thread.

Thanks for the support. I will hopefully get around to a full write-up and annotated map in the next few weeks, which I'll post here, so stay tuned. (Though I might toss out a few Ideas early in that above thread ;))

Thank you everyone for the feedback and complements! I really apprecate all of it.:)

Are all Indo-European nations ISOTed away?

Are all Indo-European nations ISOTed away?

In 2018, the ASB split OTL earth into 2 earths. All fluent (not necessarily native) speakers of IE languages went to one world, and all fluent speakers of non-IE languages went to the other. People who can speak a language from each group got duplicated and sent to both worlds.
