Can we still "repost to avoid end of page syndrome" like they did in the old days?

Please don't. If not being at the end of page is that important, just wait until the next page starts.

I gather that most of us use the 'Go to First Unread' function anyway.

I have an idea for a map concept that is swishing inside my mind for a while. What if Pink Diamond from the Steven Universe world rebelled and founded her own state isolated from the rest of the world?

View attachment 378157

The dark pink is the Anthrian Zones, for the humans. Over time, she moderated on the humans after *several* revolts and insurrections, and in HY 1680 grants them autonomy, and does a UK-style devolution. I heard from the series that the 'shattering' of PD was 000 years ago, so she had to deal with these humans, who were in serfdom for over 48000 years. The Hot Pink is the Kindergarten Zones, to create new "Crystallians". Those are gems who sided with her. This has been a controversy since it's opening up in 1934, as it was known to cause extreme environmental damage, rendering several species extinct in the last decade, and causing the League to consider sanctions on the country if it continues. Also 29.2% of the population are hybrids from the thousands of years of interbreeding, who have formed a stable population and didn't end up being a genetic trait. They are the most disenfranchised due to their impure status by both populations. The Humans still make a majority 41% of the population but are financially, and socially inferior to the Crystallians due to the Apartheid-like laws to ensure their survival. This has made the country unstable recently with the rise of ideologies such as communism, fascism, the birth of the internet, new weapons, support by various special interest groups, and the birth of Anthropocentrism, or Human-Nationalism. The ideology espouses human unity and resistance to the enemy, along with segregation of the species as humanity is too pure to be with the foreigners, and a land redistribution as the 'rocks' are the foreigners and must leave. This has lead to the government being deadlocked between the Moderates, who want a equal society under the Diamond, the Unionists, who advocate the fusion of peoples, the Traditionalists, who argue for the status quo, and the Anthrists, who favor human supremacy. There is a more radical Anthrist group the National-Anthrists, who favor Nazi style racialism. The National Congress, which is to be proportional between the three groups is facing deadlock, and the Diamond is considering enacting the Law for Control, an article that can return the government to a more absolute system until the situation is handled. Any attempt is met with riots, as the Revolutions were to create a constitutional monarchy, and not to return to a Diamondist State. A Diamondist State is a strict caste system where the Diamond is supreme over all. think an absolute monarchy....on steroids. Many Humans oppose it and a return would mean a loss of their rights, and have lead human riots. There are counter riots by the Crystallians, and the Hybrids are demonstrating for an abolishment of the Diamond and for a republic, yet the Crystallians are still trying to break out of "Diamondist Syndrome" where they show loyalty and devotion to the diamond to a North Korea level of devotion, despite the Diamond herself advocating for independence programs and self-sufficiency of all. The country will have a new election for the Grand Governor and war will be ensured if something doesn't change. The Diamond might hae to do desperate things, but will she save, or doom this country she built?

Anyone want to do this idea?

Why not a PoD in the Mongol Empire never arising? Queen Tamar's kingdom was pretty big up until the Mongols came, IIRC.
I'd also be interested in an Armenia-wank.

I think that would have the opposite effect, long term. No Mongol invasion means a faster consolidation of more populous states in the north and south, particularly Persia. It’s my belief that a Georgian state could only be dominant long term if all their neighbours are utterly crushed.
That being said, was there some key barrle that turned that conflict in the Mongols’ favour against Georgia? If there’s a POD that can stunt Mongol expansion into the Caucasus that’d be the best place to start, imo.

Now I'm curious to see what the Grecian Empire looks like.

Angry. They basically have that end bit of Anatolia and Greece, most of Bulgaria and Macedonia.

Very, very quick Georgia wank I'll come back to at a later date. Needed to offload it and the few notes I had in mind:

- Dark orange is Karamanids, Muslims but on goods terms with Georgia due to their mutual enmity for the 'clerical fascist' Grecian Empire, a proto-nationalist Byzantine successor.
- A Cossack Hetmanate of sorts. Probably not the Hetmanate given I doubt the POD would line up.
- Kurdish 'principalities'.
- 'Kingdom of Aleppo' in personal union with Georgia, majority Muslim but with a ruling class professing Georgian Orthodox.
- Speaking of which, most of Europe recognises Georgia as the authority on the Orthodox faith since the Patriarch of Constantinople fled to Tbilisi when the Grecian Empire arose.
- An overarching reason for this turn of events might be an even bloodier and longer Mongol invasion of Europe and Central Asia, somehow bypassing the Caucasus in the process so that when they did leave Georgia rose from the ashes to take over much of the surrounding region. Certainly, Russia and Persia would be in tatters.

If I do go further with this I might go a bit crazy and start adding fun stuff like a Georgian Suez Canal and Egypt, marauding Slavo-Mongol hordes in the north and some ports that are too far afield for such an isolated state, in India or Johor or Darwin, fuck it. I'm sure the courts of Tsbilisi would love the aphrodisiac sea cucumber.

Don't forget to give them Alsace-Lorraine.

Also, I'm not sure if I should either use realistic radiation, Fallout! radiation, or some other kind for the followup map to this.

Since the scenario is already fairly implausible, I'd say go crazy.

(BTW, you seem to have an extra 4 rather than 3 in Britain)

Pretty good in the west and NW, but for proper Wanking it really should include all of OTL 21st century Georgia and Armenia as directly incorporated territory. Queen Tamar's kingdom is usually shown as incorporating some areas you have assigned to vassals, if the Internet and my Penguin atlas of medieval history aren't lying to me.

What's the year?

Another quick world map of a timeline I'm going to hopefully post here soon, (Failure of the House of) Brandenburg, a timeline where Prussia loses the Seven Years' War, the Seven Years' War splits into two separate conflicts following the divisions of former-Prussia. France and Britain stagnate for a decade or two before catching up with the powers of Spain (sometimes called Iberia) and the Dutch. I've posted other maps from this timeline (specifically a map of the French Revolutions, and the United States). Hopefully at least some of you remember! Feel free to ask some questions, folks!

What's going in in France?

What's up with that ATL USA?

Kingdom of Louisiana?

Is that a strong Ottoman Empire? (Besides something going on in Egypt.)

How is Austria doing? Anything about uniting Germany under itself?

Has China reform?

How did Spain lose South America this time around? ATL Napoleonic Wars?

Alternate Western Europe. It is in the same universe as the Arabia map I posted a little while ago. The whole TL is basically just a bunch of ideas that were floating around my head. Up next: Eastern Europe and Scandinavia

As before, questions are welcomed and advice is appreciated.

With Spain and Germany, the darker lines indicate the constituent kingdoms the lighter borders inside the kingdoms are the provinces.
I don't know that these borders are believable wih a POD before 1918.
Liberia and Maryland in Africa
[IMAGE]
Following the decline and further Bankruptcy of the American Colonization Society, a referendum was held in the United States colonies to determine if the colony should become an independent nation. All but one of the colonies [The Maryland Colony] voted against independence, though votes were very close.

In 1848, the American Colonization Society were forced to liquidate their remaining assets and sell the various colonies in Africa directly to the American Federal Government. Aside from the core Liberia Colony centered around Monrovia, there were four state run colonies [Louisiana in Africa, Pennsylvania in Africa, Mississippi in Africa and Maryland in Africa] of which the Maryland Colony was given independence as an American protectorate following the Mexican American War.

The United States government now had their first Colony, and could be considered a significant regional power. Following the American Civil War, Liberia's population grew significantly with freed black slaves. Instead of 40 acres and a mule, freed blacks were offered a free ride and land in Liberia.

France attempted to purchase the inner territory of the colony in the late 1880's, but America was wary of French intervention in the America's [Mexico, Brazil and Argentina] and denied the sale, however, they did accept a land trade with the United Kingdom, settling Liberia's eastern border at the Moa River.

I very much like what you did here. You essentially built a greater Liberia while also letting Maryland in Africa remain separate. I also think it's interesting that Liberia here has an MD county even without its Maryland.

The United States of America is essentially angry, overtaxed colonists and angry, newly conquered Quebecois teaming up with angry, mildly oppressed Natives to overthrow the British and succeed.
Louisiana is some sort of confederacy (most likely a kingdom of some variety, but Louisiana is a bit of a grey right now), with a European south and a Native north co-operating peacefully.
The Ottomans are centralizing after losing some land to Russia and her allies in the early 1800s, which is why the Egyptians are revolting, but otherwise they're doing well enough.
Austria's the powerhouse of Central Europe again, and German nationalists are planning on uniting some of Germany (mostly North and Central German-speaking statelets), and these revolutionaries are worrying to Austria, who is going to pull some sort of Triple Crown (Austria, Bohemia, Hungary) out of the whole situation.
Not too sure on China yet.
Spain lost her colonies due to a colonial wave caused in part by success of the United States, anger over the World War (Seven Years' War), and a lack of care from the motherland about the colonies.

, (Failure of the House of) Brandenburg,

I like your color scheme: it's restful. :)

"Catching up with Spain?" How does Spain get ahead in the first place? By the Seven Years War,for Spain it had mostly been Relative Decline (with Occasional Rallies) for over a century.

Thanks for the color scheme compliment, I just used SUCK very liberally.
Spain stepped it up following the annexation of Portugal in the World War (Luso-Spanish War). Yeah, I'm aware it's not that accurate, but I'm willing to work with it.

Oh, forgot to answer France!!
France saw numerous revolutions due to harsh taxes following costly war. There were a mixture of democrats, anarchists and ouvrierists (proto-communists) that rose up and were subsequently squashed until the democrats pulled out on top. In order to relieve unrest, the president decided to make autonomous states out of France so that they could crack down on the anarchists and ouvrierists remaining in the country.

Interesting map, but one question for now: why the enormous Russian Alaska?

And, btw, could you link to your prior maps? I'd like to see them.....

Spain ruled Portugal before (1580-1640): didn't help.

But I'm happy to just go with "Spain reforms more successfully than OTL due to butterflies", with the proviso it's going to be a matter of "successfully catching up" rather than "pulling ahead" for a while.

Well not gonna lie, one of the reasons it’s a very very quick wank is that I didn’t consult any atlases before scribbling it up, though in my defence it was 12:30 AM or some such. I have a two hour bus ride so I’ll rectify any mistakes while aboard.

Yea, fair enough. That's why I haven't written much down yet in terms of the timelines, it's mostly visual with a couple writings. Thanks!!
