Thoroughly Americanized Japan, to the point of many name changes (Osaka and Kobe become South Kyoto, for instance). It consists of seven states (Ryukyu, Shikoku, South Honshu, Midlands, North Honshu, and Great Hokkaido) and one federal district (Jimmu, fka Tokyo). As in many American maps, the Seto Inland Sea isn't shown.
 
Is there a particular piece off software and/or technique you use to get that done quickly? This had been my nice project (and I see a couple of minor errors in the map as you've rendered it).

Thanks - no, nothing special - just quickly traced freehand over the top in Photoshop, filled in the oceans then put it over a green layer.
 
I love it! Almost looks like a repeating fractal in some places.

If i may ask, what resources are you using?

Hisatlas, a lot of Wikipedia lists, basically any maps I can find.

you ever noticed that most fictional systems of government are conveniently easy to draw electoral boundaries for? Here's the opposite: 95 single-member ridings of equal population, based on 1,041 entirely fictional census tracts.

I love it.
 
Anyone got good BAM maps of Europe in the mid 1860s and pre-Austrian Succession periods? I'd like to make a map where Austria and her allies absolutely clean Prussia's clock

Belgian Revolution succeeds.


Poland is granted independence from Russia.


British Australia is reorganized.


Dutch and Portegeuse expiditions to Australia begin.


Seeing the Victories of Poland and Belgium, it inspires the Albanian and Greek people to rise up also.




1831-

The Bosniaks under Ottoman rule rise up and revolt. They are crushed, but it becomes a martyr for future uprisings.

The United States of America divides the Unorganized Territory into the Unorganized Territory and the Missouri Territory.


Missouri is expanded.


The Missouri Territory is renamed the Plains Territory.


Over 400 delegates approach the British Parliment on the immeadiate abolition of British Slavery.


A Bavarian demonstration for better working conditions and democracy ends in a bloody massacre killing 23 people and injuring 34.

The Milwauke Territory is expanded, and thus renames itself into Northern Territory.


Martin Van Buren is sworn in as the president of the U.S.A.


Queen Victoria, 18, accedes to the throne of the United Kingdom, on the death of her uncle William IV without legitimate heirs (she will reign for more than 63 years). Under Salic law, the Kingdom of Hanover passes to William's brother, Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland, ending the personal union of Britain and Hanover which has persisted since 1714.


West Australia is renamed Victoria


The French Army takes Constantine in Algeria.


The Upper and Lower Canada Rebellions begin.

1839-

Uruguay declares independence.


The British East India Company captures Aden from Egypt, sparking a international Crisis.


Bolivia and Peru Unite into the Unido Peru-Bolivar.


Paraguay and Chile sign a pact of mutual defence.


The Treaty of London establishes Belgium as an independent kingdom, also granting the Belgian province of Limbuorg to The Netherlands. The treaty also specified that Luxembourg (a province in Belgium) was to be granted independence.


Egypt and Britain go to war, with Egypt calling in the Ottomans, and the Ottomans calling in the Russians. Britain calls in Prussia and Sweden, thus Starting the Great War of 1839.


The British begin to colonize New Zealand.


The Unido Peru-Bolivar collapses, giving birth to North Peru, South Peru, and Bolivia.


Algeria declares a Jihad on France.


The U.K. begins negotiations with Egypt to sue for peace.


Mexico creates the Territory of Neuva Tejas. It also makes some territories into states.


The Pastry War ends with a french vicotry, having Mexico pay 200,000 pesos, and granting France a Treaty Port.


British Forces seize Hong-Kong, causing the First Opium War.


The U.K., Prussia, Sweden, Egypt, Ottoman Empire, and Russia sign a peace treaty, containing only minor changes to borders.




1840-

The U.S.A discovers Antartica, claiming it all, beliving it to be a small island.


New Zealand is officaily delcared a British Colony.


Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom marries her cousin Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.


On the death of Frederick William III of Prussia, he is succeeded on the throne of the Kingdom of Prussia (which he has ruled for more than 40 years) by his eldest son Frederick William IV


Egypt, in a suprising turn of events, has troops march into Syria.


U.S. presidential election, 1840: William Henry Harrison defeats Martin Van Buren in a landslide.




1841-

The U.S.A. reorganizes it’s territories, and then grants statehood to Iowa and Northern Territory.


Northern Territory renames itself to Minnesota


North Peru finalizes the borders on its “Pequena’s”.


The Ottoman Empire declares war on Egypt.


Egypt calls for British Aid, and reaches an agreement where Britain can have the South Arabian Coastline in exchange for a military alliance. Britain agrees.


The French president Frédéric Bastiat says in a speech, “...Les rebelles d'Occitanie ne seront plus considérés comme des occitans! Non, plus longtemps! La région d'Occitanie est une terre française légitime, et doit être traitée comme telle!...”


French troops begin to enter Occitania.


Occitania surrenders to the French Government, knowing there is no way it can defend itself.
