I really like this as a concept- you could always just do the larger states in parts.
Thats true, then I could photoshop them together, that actually might work better for all states because then I could actualy have a nicely sized map for each state
I have no intention to be a smartass but just one thing, Thay Kurdistan SSR doesn't have many Kurds (it does have Iranian Kurdistan true but Kurdish areas are much bigger in Turkey, Iraq and Syria). That seems much more like an Azerbaijan SSR to me. What with most of that region being South Azerbaijan. Also Hokkaido means something like "Northern Territory" in japanese iirc so "Japanese SSR" or "Ezo SSR" could maybe work better. Just some suggestions.

I made a map of what happened if Germany was monarchist in the 30s instead of Nazi and France became communist while Russia went all ultra-nationalist (essentially becoming a parallel to OTL Germany), called it's form of genocide the "Unity Project" in order to purge non Russians and preserve Russian territorial integrity. Invasions of Finland and Poland were part of this plan, ending with a German alliance with Poland and supporting a Ukrainian, Baltic, and others uprising with promises of their own nations. While not completely done what the USSR and other states did with ethnic cleansing in post WW2 Germany was done to Russia, moving millions out of their homes for other nations to settle, and to in essence keep Russia from becoming a threat to eastern Europe again. (I really went for parallels here to try and have something unique for once). An Urgic Federal State still needs to be added as well as Ruthenia and occupation zones, but this is it so far.

Oh, and the one thing Germany got out of this was Sevastapol, which they paid the Ukrainians a LOT for. Baltic Germans were encouraged to migrate to the Volga German State as well as Germans in other eastern European states in order to boost it's population and try to mitigate the issue of German minorities within it's allied nations, with most paid handsomely and given good sized amounts of land, about 75% opted for moving to the Volga state.

Yea, I simply went with the name of the Island being "Northern Territory", also an azerbaijani ssr would be better since the Soviets added alot of OTL azerbaijan to the Russian SSR and made a Transcaucasian SSR rather than individual ones for each ethnic group in the region

Created a map of racial concentrations according to South Africa's 1911 Census (this is possibly the first map of this census in existence) in the style of the CIA map of the country from 1970.
I wasn't expecting whites to form a majority over such a large area. Was it because much of the north-central Cape Province had a low population?
So a map I had done a while ago and forgot until recently: I changed it a bit.
The concept is a partition of a (almost completely) terraformed Mars developed through international cooperation. The Martian Treaty of 2251 allocated two-thirds of the planet to national claims (the other third became a UN Protectorate where no national claims are allowed - although between private colonists, exiles and scientific colonies, the area is - although sparsely - somewhat inhabited).
The situation on Earth has remained surprisingly stable since the early XXI century: the major differences lying in the establishment of the ultraconservative, nationalistic All-Russian State (which deported all of its non-Russian ethnicites to the Martian colony of Novoeurassiya) to replace the failed Russian Federation, the unification of the European Union, and the establishment of united regional organisations like the Latin American Economic Union and the Union of African States.
Political pressure on Earth spread to Mars: the fight between the Latin American Union (spearheaded by Colombia and Brazil, but exploiting Argentine political pressures) and Britain over the Falklands, which spread to border fights in Mars: the American cold war with Russia spread to the Martian environment, with American dominance over the Martian ocean pushing a blockade of Novorossiya and outright pushing for independence of nationalities in Novoeurassiya (which came to fruition in 2279).
