Weren't the different shapes in part due to the invaders kind of melting parts of the continents into the seas? Or am I mis-remembering?
Whenever I see a kingdom of the Franks post, I always get inspired to re-vamp my Frankish Empire timeline, lol.

Well. . . I didn't watch the series. I only know it by reputation.
I always thought the world was just shaped that way naturally.
In any case, I don't think anyone watched the show for its backstory.
Only saw one episode online before I decided it wasn't my cup of tea, but for a show so dedicated to putting girl's underwear on display it seems to have a fairly elaborate backstory.
Planning on also making a USSR Wank, the truth of the fact was that I wanted to do a Russia-Wank, and then sought about doing that through a USSR wank, this short map-series might also be a slight- NATO-screw.
I recently found out the founding fathers originally wanted each congressional district to have at max 30,000 people so I thought what if it stayed that way and we never changed that, so I decided to start a project and did the first one using Rhode Island with Dave's redistricting, it has 36 districts (the white areas are water areas)
This is a fun project but sadly there is a limit using Dave's so if anyone has a better app I can use let me know because I can't do states like Virginia or New York using Dave's because of the limit of congressional districts you can put in at max being 250.

I like it, but as a New Yorker, I can tell you that Albany and Buffalo are neutral, if not leaning Dem, also a lot of Vermont and New Hampshire is leaning/heavy republican.

I don't really know much about the colonization in Africa, so I tried using logic, google, and my own little brain.

There was a world war 2, roughly the same stuff happened, except, the Soviets declared war on the Nazi's in 1937, and the Nazi's managed to gather Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania to the axis. Italy moved into Greece and Yugoslavia, that's how the Soviets occupied and influenced Greece and Yugo.
Germany is defeated in 1944, the war in Europe lasts from 1937 to 1944, The Soviets by this point have only lost 8-10 million men, much less than OTL,
They bum rush Japan the same way as our TL, except they surprise attack Japan almost immediately after the US declare war on Japan- thus breaking their Non-aggression pact, Hokkaido was gained via multiple aerial invasions and obviously diplomatic treaties after the war. In this TL the Soviets with much more men and supplies are able to fully take mainland Korea and gain military access into China in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia, this is where they re-vamp Mao's communist party, instead of Manchuria, they keep that for themselves.
There are more socialist nations at the start of the coldwar, therefore Stalin can choose to expand the USSR more.
The Soviets and Finland enter into a "summer-war", after the fall of Germany, the Soviets begin rapidly invading Finland in the middle of spring of 1944, they make their largest pushes through the later spring, entire summer, and early fall of 1944, after a winter and spring of aerial bombardments and scouting Finnish guerrilla troops, Finland returns to Russian hands.
During the creation of Poland, All of East Prussia is directly annexed by the Russian SSR, as well as Belarus, and even more land is taken from pre-ww2 eastern Poland than OTL.
France and Britain join in the war circa 1939 as Hitler attempts to sneak attack Benelux and attack France for supplies and manpower, same with Denmark and Norway,
Because of no Soviet-US coordination during the war, there are no Yalta conferences, therefore the Soviets can change their new internal borders to benefit the Russian SSR and can freely annex more puppet states, however Stalin still prefers like in OTL to have socialist puppets rather than new USSR states.
The Soviets, because of their lessened ties with the Allies are able to have more leg room during the Iran Crisis of 1946, thus leading to the creation of the Khorasani SSR as well as the Kurdistani one. After all of these moves of aggressive expansion, Soviet death tolls only peak at about 13 million, which is roughly 14 million less than OTL. The Soviets also enter into a military conflict with Turkey in 1951, just months before they join NATO (ATL and OTL), this is due to Stalin framing the Turks for harrasing a Warsaw pact member, Greece, the Soviets create the Warsaw pact in 1950, and all of its members enter before the summer of 1951. Stalin attempts to make the military conflict against turkey more of a military conflict, than an actual war. By this point in time, because the Soviets would have gained the earlier push on Germany, they would end up occupying much more the country as well as completely controlling Berlin, not sharing with the allies. Because of this, the Soviets also inherit the best of German engineering of the 1940's, which is more than enough to devastate Turkish divisions which only have minimal support from the allies. In the end, the Turks are kicked off Europe, with the land going to the Socialist Democratic Republic of Greece, as well as a tiny portion of Marmala (aka the Anatolian side of Constantinople).

The Soviets also occupied Liechtenstein, and allowed the east Germans to annex the nation.
The Soviet push through Austria and Yugoslavia has led to the creation of a socialist Venice (Soviet controlled lands in Italy as seen on the map)
The Soviet borders of central Asia are simply the ones of 1925, however without the extension of Uzbekistan.
The Soviets invade Afghanistan early on in the Cold War, in 1952, just before Eisenhower can take office, they still face a Guerilla uprising, however, even though Stalin only lost 13 million men in this ww2, it is still 13 million men, instead the soviets just bomb the crap out of Afghanistan just like the US dropping napalm on the North Vietnamese.
