I like this.

I take it there some Soviet rump state or two in Siberia?

Actually, Siberia was also de-sovietified, the only place where some communism remained was the Union of Turkestan. But it wasn't really a communist state. Socialism is pretty popular and has been democraticaly elected a couple of times (Something like India). Siberia is an independent Republic.

Looks good! I think we are going to need an overall world map for this alternate WWII.

Thanks. I'm planning to add more countries and eventually make a World Map.

Here's something I've technically been working on for a year now, but procrastinated for literal months, so I guess that doesn't count... :p
This is the world map for my ASB TL I've been fleshing out for the same time I've been working on the map, I'm planning on posting some of the write-ups for it soon. I'll start working on a key soon, too ^^
Any constructive criticism, questions, or recommendations are appreciated and encouraged! Hopefully I didn't forget anything on the map because there's a pretty darn high chance I did

Great job Manlet I mean AmericanAdam.

Set in the year 1821 the Louis L'Amour novel Rivers West recounts a small part of the life of Jean Talon* and his becoming entangled in an effort to thwart Baron Richard Torville's** plot to seize control of the territory of the Louisiana purchase from the United States and establish his own empire in it. Unfortunately the book doesn't make the jump into full alternate history territory as Talon wins before Torville's plot could be put into action, but there are enough hints of his plans in the book I could make two maps. The first on the left shows Torville's initial goal of taking the Louisiana Territory (as it is continuously called in the book while it becomes obvious he means everything shown). The one on the right is speculation on Torville's medium term goals based off one of his hired men talking about ruling "Santy Fe," and Talon's love interest talking about Torville recruiting men in Mexico.

Torville also had eyes on the Hudson Bay Company lands, but he was inclined to bide his time there until the fur trade collapsed.

Anywho, could Torville have won his war against the United States? No. He had a good enough plot, but he only had ten thousand men, and most of them seem to have been trappers. Given his characterization would it have been interesting to watch him try? Yes. Would he have been better off going for Texas and establishing his empire there? Also yes.

*His family would ultimately marry into the Sacketts sometime later.
**Not a Baron, and probably not really named Richard Torville.

Here's the first map of (hopefully) an entire series where the Central Powers win World War I that I'm calling After the Welkrieg and this is a map of the world after the Treaty of Brussels.

1918-After the Weltkrieg.png

The Great War finally came to an end when Britain accepted a ceasefire with the devastated Ottoman Empire on September 19th, 1918. The belligerents met in Brussels to redesign the world map to benefit the Central Powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, and the Ottomans.

Germany kept the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk and also created the Don-Kuban Republic, Union of Turkestan, the Transcaucasian Federative Republic, and the colony of Ostkaukasus. Germany was intent on destroying the French colonial empire and not only took land from the French mainland but also made France pay large war reparations and the Central Powers annexed every single one of France's colonies. Most French colonies in West Africa were taken by Austria-Hungary and Germany annexed several colonies in order to form Mittelafrika while Bulgaria and Italy annexed some colonies as well. All of France's colonies outside of Africa were annexed by Germany and turned the German Empire into a superpower spanning the entire globe.

Bulgaria was determined to become a great power (even if it wouldn't be as powerful as Germany) and annexed plenty of land in the Balkans. Bulgaria also took a good amount of colonies, however, the Bulgarian tsar is still hungry for more and is turning his attention towards the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans themselves have lost their position as a power after the Arab Revolt and have been forced to grant independence to the Kingdom of Hejaz. The Ottoman Empire has become reliant on Germany for staying together and has won over the Germans by becoming their source for oil.

After the Ottoman Empire was weakened by the Arab Revolt Italy was free to take Egypt, which has become an Italian protectorate, and the Italians also annexed Sudan while they were at it. Italy has become one of the strongest nations in Europe and the people are satisfied with their empire which will prevent a certain nationalist from rising in the near future.

The Treaty of Brussels was also used as an opportunity to end the Russian Civil War. Most of Russia was given to the Bolsheviks who formed the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic and the east became the Far Eastern Republic which became the home for what remained of the White Army.

With the Great War over peace has finally been restored to Europe, however, the French are angry at Germany and many have turned to radical ideologies. Meanwhile the Central Powers and Great Britain have come together by forming the Anti-Communist League to combat the spread of communism. The new century has truly begun and many anticipate it to be the German Century.

For those of you who were around for my FHTL Ecce Homo Acadiensis, I've been revisiting it. Trying to make it more realistic, and that starts with seeing what exactly the climate looks like. And now I've started. Here are the Koppen climate zones for Eastern North America in VT-BAM format.

Maybe you could put the national borders on top of the climate map? I'm having trouble placing Maine, my home state, on the map.

Not the final version (I intend hiding the source map layer). Any comments on what direction I should take the details of this map towards?

I say less Bahamas, more Lesser Antilles, as those were the money makers. Though I suppose at this point the Dutch, Danes, English, Courlanders, and French hadn't jumped in, and it might make more sense that instead the Bahamas as shown since the Greater Antilles would be right behind them. Also, I think I read somewhere, or came across some old maps, showing the Niger River as one of the sources of the Nile. Perhaps the area around modern Chad is given some animals to suggest terra nullis (probably the wrong term for unexplored areas. It means unclaimed, right?) and the either Lake Chag or. The mouths of the Niger as shown. I imagine that Ptomelyesque things would try tieing the Malians to the Egyptians, a la Mali Rising, maybe also show a Kingdom of Kongo? Seems like it would be major enough, especially as it was relatively centralized, at the mouth of a large river system, plus was officially semi-sorta-kinda Christian. I don't really know the details, though as they got their money exporting slaves I imagine it was probably introduced by the Portuguese. As for Zanzibar, maybe keep that but also show the Swahili Coast being named Zanj? Think that was used at some point. I'll need to go back and read your other posts to see your reasoning for some of the map choices in case I was interpreting things wrong. Ahh, and maybe something with Indonesia? Whether European, Indian, Chinese, or Ottoman, the various Spice Islands would be a high priority to know about, though many countries would probably keep their own maps hidden, unless making claims. Or they would hide the navigation charts?

This is a great looking map and with nice detail, but how high is the projected sea level rise in your FHTL?
What i really want to know from that is which of the great lakes have been contaminated with salt water?
Also, Poor Old Montreal...

Made a map of Europe at approximately 450 BC.
Topographic names in englisch, most cities in latin and the regional names given by the greeks in - surprisingly - greek.
And to be clear, its more an historic approach than an exact depiction.

You know those maps that sometimes show Europeans fleeing revolution or some contingent-killing cataclysm and setting up rump states in the Americas or Africa? When I saw this my eyes went to Jutland and I know wonder if someone could ever do a map showing the HrE squeezed into the the peninsula. Anyways, marvelous work though I am wondering if there would be a bit more land underwater leading up to York.
