I am guessing 7 was something with Saar. Looks like Poland got a bit more of East Prussia, and in exchange East Germany kept more of Stettin at 3. I don't recall if the river is usually that wide, but then maps seldom show waivers outside of having them as lines. Though maybe it is wider here be a use the rest of the world is warped. I am guessing Denmark and Sweden are the same shape as IOTL and this is all to do with the projection? Ahhh, and is Bremen independent? Looks as though West Germany was going to be sliced up, into even more pieces than merely the Three Zones.
DDR sticks around and some weird economic union is founded post-Cold War? :D
Actually wrong millennium.
It's basically a crapsack-esque wet dream of an AFD elector.

As far as i know, the concept went like this:

several Natural disasters occur in the near future (early 2020s) which cause the North Sea to be flooded severely, causing the Brokdorf nuclear catastrophe as well. (PoI 4)

Also a few years later the oder valleys break due to a flood catastrophe due to extreme rain which is why there's this weird "Oder Inland Sea" (PoI 3).

The failure of the government to help the people accordingly and the rise of the AfD causes an extreme nationalist East Germany and Bavaria to break away and join the visegrad group.
Berlin and some neighbor districts (the Speckgürtel) didn't like that and declared itself city state, which is being fought over (PoI 1)
Germany, North Italy, France and the Benelux united into an "EU state" as the EU breaks apart (7) which Bremen, Hamburg and Schleswig didn't like, leaving, whereasof the latter two join the Visegrad later
Also due to an economic collapse in Russia Kaliningrad is split between "true" Germany and Poland

That's basically it, and you can see that there's no writeup yet

great job on the map! If I could make one or two additions, I'd suggest: Territoire de Belfort, Briey arrondissement, the ethnic 1919 Schleswig boundary, and a full South Prussia and East Prussia, and add in a bit to Burgenland for those ethnic German cities there that remained in Hungary. Keep up the good work!
I tried to keep the scenario as realistic as possible so ceding Belfort to Elsass-Lothringen doesn't make much sense as it had almost no German population and it was in the interesst of the German Military to keep it French due to it's strategic location at the Burgundian gate.
I haven't looked into Briey but seeing that Germany owns the entire Grand Duchy Luxembourg it might make sense to give some more land to Germany to reduce the French salient there.
Schleswig doesn't make sense to me because the border only changed after WW1, which didn't happen here (yet). Also I like my Germany to be G R O ß
I'm considering giving Prussia South and New East Prussia but that would make Poland unrealisticlly small with only Krakow as a major city and so I'd probably have to divide it up all over again.
The German majority cities in Hungary I'll definitely have a look at, thanks for the Tip!

Thanks for the feedback :)
If you want to edit the map to create your own Großgermanius feel free to do so. I can PM you the base I used if you'd like.

I am guessing then that the breakup of the Netherland went the same way, with the Dutch having to make some of their own land semi-German because they lost land to Belgium (really makes no sense to me) and now the Germans took both the original land and the compensation? Also, everyone in Europe hates Germany, don't they?

I'm still trying to figure out if the Belgian Revolution even took place and if yes to what magnitude. I don't understand what you mean by the Dutch making their own land semi-German if you could elaborate on that.
The Germans should be relatively well liked in northern and eastern Europe (with exception of Hungary), they should also be on decent terms with the English due to their mutual rival France. Their rapid expansion and growth to a major world power concerns many of Europes old powers though, but with German irredentism mostly satisfied a German war of aggression in Europe is unlikely.

Limburg was both a province of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and a member of the German Confederation. The second part only happening because the Prussians/Germans/Confederation demanded it, when half of Luxembourg was given to Belgium. All of Luxembourg had previously been in the German Confederation. And looking it up further, it seems that Maastricht and Vento were not in the Duchy, as they were trying to keep the same amount of people in the Dutch portions of the Confederation, and those cities would have increased it by too much. Check out a map the regions of both the Netherlands and Belgium and you will see the same names on both sides of the borders. Zeeland, Brabant, Hainut, Limburg... They split them down along the lines of religion, though to be fair they had been seperated for some centuries anyways. On your map you are showing both Belgian and Dutch Luxembourg, which, while currently having language issues as a lot of the Parisian dialect of French has been forced on them since the French Revolution, you should be able to make properly German with an early enough POD.

Thanks for the info and the Feedback, you have sparked my interest in that Region:)

I'm not completely sure what Polycratia is. The first map that features it refers to it as the "Poleis Kratos League," and the map I saw called it Polikratia. I assume it's a reference to Polycrates of Samos, say if he was a bit more of a conqueror and less of a raider and united Greece under him.

I imagine my map would take place somewhere between 500-800, in the aftermath of the Migration Era
I just want to correct myself, because apparently Polycratia is supposed to be the "City States League" (Poli-Kratos). Oh well, it doesn't change much about the story of my map.

WIP linguistic map, any guesses as to what's going on?

Part III: Ave Homines

On June 18, 2023, the spacecraft USS Arminius departed from The Hub, a torus-shaped space station that was the center of travel throughout the Sol system. The Great Expansion was underway- reverse-engineered Race technology was being used to colonize and mine the asteroids, terraform Mars, build colonies and watering stations out in Saturn and Jupiter, haul ice from the Kuiper Belt to the Inner System, and fuel the greatest economic expansion in human history. The Equator was now a visible object, as a straight line of space stations, satellites, and orbital factories dotted the equatorial plane at LEO. Reconnaissance of the Race was no child's play, simply because they had no way to scan every singe object in orbit. Colony transports like the Speedwell, the Mayflower, the Godspeed, the Susan Constant, and the Discovery, carried thousands of colonists to Mars, the Belt, and the Outer Planets every month. Two uninhabited habitable worlds, around 61 Cygni A and B, are both under review for being the subject of American Colonization fleets, using newly-developed FTL technology

Mexico, Spain, and Poland have been granted greater autonomy as a hedge against rebellion, with all malcontents in the Race colonies invited to relocate there, where they have roughly the same autonomy as an American state.

The Arminius expedition was sent to send the message to the Race that they were obsolete. President Shaw, who had been placed in cold sleep in 1974, was awoken and treated with telomerase to be allowed to go on the expedition. Back on Earth, a brain drain was rapidly occurring as the best and brightest of the Race colonies were abandoning the lizards for the United States.

Back stateside, the Anthropist Party, founded in 1946 by President Shaw as the majority coalition on Earth, has stayed in power for nearly a century. Benjy Shaw was succeeded by Richard Nixon (1969-1993,) Hillary Rodham (1993-2021) and now Jason Kander was the current President. The Human Power salute (two taps on the chest above the heart with a close-fisted right hand, followed by a closed-fisted salute) was a universal gesture in the States, and the greeting ave homines (roughly translated "Hail, Humanity" or "Hail, Mankind") was a subversive gesture in the Race Colonies.

Washington, DC was rebuilt following the Race's nuclear attack on it in 1942, with a Capitol building far larger and grander than the original, capable of housing Senators and Representatives from all 117 states. The Invasion Memorial, a massive, 400-foot obelisk in the middle of Victory Square, dominates the skyline even more than the Washington Monument did. On it are the names of every person killed in the Race Invasion of Earth.Victory Sqauare and the National Mall are now merged, and in 2021 the inauguration of Jason Kander drew the largest crowd in history, simply because a significant fraction of the population hadn't been born when Former President Rodham was inaugurated.

Shuttlecraft ferry people between points on Earth in under an hour, while for shorter distances a MagVac system crisscrosses the nation, allowing one to travel from New York o Los Angeles in 40 minutes. The trip from Boston to Washington, DC is made in under ten.

English is taught in schools nationwide, acting as the lingua franca of a new empire. Jakarta, Singapore, Manilla, Tokyo, and elsewhere are all modern cities with modern conveniences. As travel between states is so easy, the cultures of many of those areas have been disbursed, so much so that the neighborhood south of Cecil B Moore avenue in Philadelphia is called "Javatown," while "Little Philippines" in Chicago is a thriving area chock full of small, family-owned businesses.

Mars has a population that is approaching one million and may soon be broken up into states, while the Belt has about half a million and the Outer system has about the same.

The world changed in 1942, but in the end it is Humanity that was the victor. Humanity will soon spread out amongst the stars and make them home, and it's all thanks to the little, hide-bound lizards that invaded so long ago.
