Made a quick little thing to show US States. Showing some new states and some renamed states. Convention in the US was not to name any states after Presidents or other Founding Fathers
I was working on State Apportionment for this map and lost everything when my computer did a random shutdown while I went potty a few minutes ago. I'm rather upset and now have no idea if I even want to restart.

Over in the Pokemon Thread we've been discussing our own regions and Pokemon, so today I made this map of the Aotea Region, obviously based on New Zealand. I haven't finished all the details yet and I'm not entirely happy with the way the routes look, but it took a while so I thought I'd share:

January 1, 1950, the Tecumseh Protectorate is granted formal independence as the Republic of Tecumseh with the passage of the Tecumseh Act in Westminster. The already prepared freedom of movement agreement with Canada is the first act passed into law by the inaugural Tecumseh Parliament, hopes are still high in the Communities' Council that the talk of joining the Kingdom of Laurentia will soon die down with their new-found independence.

My first Inkscape map! Comments and helpful critiques are appreciated!

First time I've seen Lafayette represented on an alternate history map, good work.

The Twelve Colonies, as of declaring independence from Azalaia's oppressive government in 1784. The twelve would go on to form the Allied States of Lagellania, a beacon of liberty in an oppressive world.

Derry: A somewhat cold northern state, it has a fishing and timber economy. Very rural and only joined the Revolution because the Governor at the time found out his wife was one of the King's mistresses.
New Lampaster: A very distinct-minded state with a very strong belief in democracy that at times extends to those who in other states wouldn't normally get the vote.
Summerset Bay: The heart of the Revolution, with the ideals of the new country being cooked-up here by revolutionary philosophers such as Adam Samuels and Franklin Benjamin.
Tellbrook: Somewhat affluent, but also deeply distrustful of the Crown's control. More or less joined the Revolution because it opposed the tax hikes.
Providence: A small and very, very unique state. Full of revolutionary fervor, the citizens toppled their Governor and took over, swearing in the revolutionary leader as the new Governor.
New Folskyr: Named after a group of islands, it's strongly affected by the new trading restrictions as a significant part of its economy is due to trade.
New Arnhem: Very cosmopolitan, very populated, and very divided in loyalties. The Governor has declared the state's participation in the Revolution, but there exists a "Loyalist Government" in the north.
The Mearnland: Set up by disgruntled citizens who thought they went to Lagellania to create a life for themselves on the frontier, not rely on cities for trade. Very much the most "republican" state.
Spotsylvania: Liladelphia is the current capital of the revolutionary government and this reflects the state's strong revolutionary stance.
Bredabeau: A somewhat rural state slowly being populated by New Arnhem traders and foreign immigrants, it's known for its swamp. Backs the Revolution.
Maidania: The most reluctant state to join the Revolution, it prides itself on being a bastion of civilisation, being the first colony Azalaia set up. Plenty of settlers left it to go east, those people refuse to join in the Revolution.
Verapax: And of course, Verapax, the very first state to declare its independence! A state full of revolutionary passion, it sparked the other states to join into, and is the state Azalaia despises the most.

On September 1, 1939 in the real world, two three-lane paved roads appear at random in both Tokyo Harbor, and in a random coastal part of Australia (I picked it at random)-- at the other side of the road is another terminus, this time in November 1944 in a different Tokyo Harbor, and a different Australia. Crossing the bridge takes only sixty-five minutes at 40mph on the Japanese end, and 45 minutes at 40mph on the Australian end.

Soon after these events, both worlds, on the brink of war, or falling into war, have their every experience deeply complicated.

The Co-Prosperity Spheres shall grow.

Alright it's here!

Looks like things were pretty stable, exept for Nigeria. Which really means things weren't that stable because nearly everybody on the planet lives in Nigeria.

I could see that southeast area of Namibia splintering but it being completely depopulated seemes a bit of a stretch no?

They should have used that ugly panhandle for the reason it existed in the first place and followed the river to the other coast of Africa. It's a great river you know, just one small* waterfall in the way and it's smooth sailing.
* on a scale of Mount Everest to Olympus Mons it's smaller than both mountains :openedeyewink:
